Expected a bit of a let down after playing witches hats in the second half last week, but not to the extent of the first half. Forgot to show up.

Skills abysmal. Bombs away seems to be the plan.

Onto next week.

Joey, Roberton, Longer, Steven were probably our 4 best, (Roberton a lock for 2015 top 5 B&F)

Longer reported - hoping only 1 week....

Great 3rd quarter - that's about it

*Edit - forgot Savage who tried hard

Some small positive signs but realistically that is what we get if we only play a quarter and a bit of footy.

To the guys that busted themselves when we didn’t turn up in the first half – kudos.

Newnes almost 10 touches and 5 tackles in the first quarter

Steven - 9 tackles to halftime. Armo in and under

Sinclair our most effective player early – hope we can find a way to turn him into a 20+ midfielder

Well done to Savage, Robbo and Joey dragging us back into it in the third but …

So frustrating with our disposal and decision making going forward (let alone our accuracy). Such a tough day for Roo, Bruce, Lonie and Membrey and what kills me though is that a lot of the time the biggest culprits are senior players.

Jarryn Geary. Love his effort and heart but can’t kick and has always been fumbly

Sam Gilbert- versatile and valuable but god his howlers hurt

Adam Schneider – disposal is class except when it sells a teammate into a world of trouble

Joey – those up and under kicks that sit our forwards under the contest

As we begin to replace these guys with good kicks and good decision makers under pressure we will improve. But that was a reality check of where we are at and moving forward we will have more days like that.

Patience … we are on the right track

Now over to watch the kids continue their development against Coburg, sideways rain and VFL umpiring in the second half of the Sandy game

Besides the third quarter, we were really disappointing. Our ball use and conversion when we had the chance to score just wasn't good enough.

We aren't doing ourselves any favours when we keep bombing it inside 50.

Billy Longer will be our Shane Mumford, huge today with 48 hitouts and 5 clearances, just a massive performance. His opponent had 4 disposals, 24 hitouts and 0 clearances, by the way.

Senior players seriously disappointing, but it was good to see our flaws exposed so we know where to go in future.

That said, I hate seeing senior players make mistakes, it could be young players making and learning from those errors, not sure what some of the senior guys (a couple in particular) will learn from making the same mistake for the 100th time. This team isn't young enough to justify the poor performance.

Funny how we all see it differently I thought Longer was very good yet others are calling for him to be dropped

Longer will probably get a week, Roo has a calf complaint.

OUT: Longer, Riewoldt
IN: Hickey, McCartin

At least...

EDIT: Hope Roo gets up, would be tragic if he missed next week.

What selections did you not agree on Dewah?

We beat Essendon by 110 points with the same side last week.
just off the top of my head.

out
gilbert
snids
in
eli
goddard

then theirs saints fan favourites like geary who i would be happy to not see at the club next year.

would have worked out a way to rotate the oldies in and our like dempster/fisher/ray/etc and moved them in out out

Not sure who's going to be available but..

Out: Ross, Gilbert
In: Templeton, Delaney

Cameron and McCarthy killed us today and we need to play playing a key defender, plain and simple. Why Delaney isn't in the team I have no idea. I'm not just bashing Gilbert by dropping him but we need Del in and out of Gilbert/Fisher/Dempster/Roberton, Gilbert is easily the one to make way. As for Ross, forgot he was playing today that's how anonymous he was. Has got zero presence, which is disappointing because apparently he's a bull in the VFL. Eli gives us some run and flair, as well as some freaking foot skills.

Well that would be giving the younger guys a go, which is fine, but no way does it improve our side IMO.

i don't even care about improvement in this seasons onfeild success.

just hate the way richo/sexton and whoever is accountable has done their selection decisions this year.

Did you think Dunstan offered much more then Ross today ? just interested with how we all see players in different ways. Thought Dunstan was not sighted in 1st half a good patch for 15mins in the 3rd and that was it

I am loathe to vent on individuals.

We cannot argue on the one hand that GWS have an elite talent pool - who happen to be coming good this year - and then complain when we lose to them.

Reality is that we are nowhere close to where they are at development wise, so it's a massive hit IMO. we are, and will remain inconsistent until we mature as group.

They were talking today on the radio about the players they had playing in the 2nds today for GWS, BLOODY HELL

Yeo, scary shit. But it won't last because they'll move for more opportunity.

That said, GWS aren't hapless like they were a few years back. They are on the up, like the Dogs and may yet play finals.

You can only play as good as the opposition let you.
