Someone please send this to Robbo after his disgracefully biased article in the Herald Sun yesterday. The bloke is a steaming pile of shit.

Shows what a joke the HS is when you have Slobbo as Head Writer

The game reminded me of the 2017 Cox Plate.Winx went to the lead too early and was a sitting duck for the horses behind her.Humidor got pretty close in the end,but in reality was never going to catch her.It was the same with the footy the other day.We went out hard early, made ourselves a sitting duck for Essendon. But despite the hellish howls of their white walker army, they were never going to win that game, because they just weren't good enough in the end.

Crisp turned the ball over in the middle with 1 minute left and our defence caught out of position, we're damn lucky Saad choked and gave it right back.

Maybe. But the reality is they never even looked like scoring in the last five minutes, something people seem to have forgotten.I don't think the ball even went in their forward half in the last five minutes,we definitely had them pinned down in our forward half in that time.

Do yourself a favour and stop reading that rag.

I stopped a couple of years ago and I'm very glad I did.

The Herald Sun is an anachronism, fit for lining budgie cages.

A few things from my perspective:

- The booing. I’m with Bevo and think it’s a bit of a laugh. I mean who didn’t look at those Bombers fans during the presentation and laugh? That said good on Bucks for going into bat for his man. It’s little acts and moments like those that are beginning to define this group which is something to be proud of.

- The negativity of this thread. I’m not getting it? That was far from our best, but the thing is the best teams rarely allow you to have it on your terms for long periods and Essendon are a good team. They remind me a lot of us 12 months ago.

- Missed set shots. We all remember that game last October unfortunately? Well the result was a carbon copy with the better team on the day able to eke out a win. The tables were turned this time. Big difference was that because it’s a H&A match and there’s next week to play out the criticism rises. The opportunities were there for us to smash it open and unfortunately we blew three guilt edged opportunities in the third plus had a fourth denied by a bees...

- The reality is we held them to 69 points, had 3 more scoring shots and overcame a -18 clearance differential after 1/4 time with Daniher going off. Essendon blew chances as well, but they cashed in on three big set shots (Stringer x 2 and Daniher) that on any other day they may have turned into one or two goals at best.

- The umpiring was good. I only had the Cox one against Hooker and the Baguley one against Langdon as iffy one’s.

- On individuals. Obviously Pendles is the standout, but special mentions from me go to Maynard and Roughead. Maynard copped a lot on Thursday and he battled through it very well after a poor showing v Brisbane. Roughead took Brown completely out of it, big tick. Although the next step for him is to offer more support to Moore when he’s being outplayed. Also what’s with the criticism of Beamer? The blokes allowed one off game and I’m tipping it was a bit of an emotional let down after the game in Brisbane. We’re asking him to do a lot of heavy lifting ATM as the main inside mid and he needs more support, IMO.

I really want to highlight the negativity again because it’s completely unjustified. We’re 4-2 with a % over 120 and have hit the sweet spot only twice this year. There is little benefit in being on top of the ground in April as long as we’re building. I personally saw nothing to suggest we aren’t working towards our best when it matters...

Anyone wondering why the incorrect disposal against tippa wasn't called?

Play on. Those are allowed through to the keeper 99 out of 100.

For the sake of fairness what did you think of the Maynard missed tackle that allowed him to feed the ball out? Or Moore’s ball watching as Daniher recovered faster? Or Langdon going to the boundary side instead of front and centre? BTW good call from him not to go in the air with Heppell, IMO.

Isn’t it fair to also highlight the potential Collingwood errors in that passage?

Sco completely with you in general

But from my point of view

Booing the recipient of an RSL sponsored medal award shows utter contempt for those who gave everything for our liberty and safety.

Those Troglodytes who participated have - in turn - my total and utter contempt.

It’s really annoying me how you are always so logical and measured in your comments. Just stop it! :)

In the heat of the moment I was completely onboard with your POV, but now not so much because I think we need to be certain of intent before we can label that many people. Much like the Goodes booing being twisted as racism it just doesn’t fit, IMO.

I’m also not keen on discussing five seconds out of 100 minutes of the best footy we’ve seen in 2019. Time to move on for me 👍

Well not in agreement on the Trogs but why let it detract from a famous fighting victory?

We would have lost that last year and probably by 4 goals, maturity and continuity for younger players have lifted our 'worst' few of the 22 significantly from last year. It's been a torrid start to the season for us and we have done well so far.

Hah I had three days to chew on it and my thoughts now are very different to what they were on Thursday at 6pm...

A small snapshot of one that I mellowed on was that I was less than impressed with the pumping up of Brown’s tyres for doing the absolute bare minimum in the final minute. To me taking his full 30 seconds was akin to McGovern being on the goal line v GC.

IMO, if you’re hunting for positives about his game I would have left it at him putting himself in dangerous positions inside the last 2 mins. I also don’t believe it’s worth me focusing on.

I was taking the p155.... I know they always let them go. It was just a bit banter back the other way.

As far as pies I think we are a fair bit away from being any chance this year. In patches we look like a top 4 teams then we go straight to looking like a bottom 6 team in the same game. Where not a quick team, and we get away with that when we are hitting up target's by foot. But in the second half and the end of the second that stopped in this game and then the oppositions team quick players stood out.

I’m curious if others agree with me on this.

I just didn’t think we’d lose that game once we got the upper hand during the first quarter. (Well until the last stanza of the last quarter.)

We long had at least a two goal buffer; and our missed shots allowed them to creep back into a closer position.

Whilst I’m more a pragmatic watcher (than a pessimist or optimist for that matter) I just wasn’t convinced they could win.

Glad we’re finally a team that can lock out the opposition.

Bank 4 points and move forward.

I might tend towards pessimism, but we were close to losing it. Our midfield lost control and our scoring dried up, and if the game had gone on too much longer then it would likely have been lost.

Our defence is our salvation. It kept us in the game, even though the momentum was against us from the 2nd quarter. Langdon and Moore are titans.

LOL April champions are September's nobodies.

LOL you should know being a pies supporter we are September nobodies.

How on earth is it justified to pot a supporter by shitting on your own club? Not cool...
