My biggest bit of feedback, from a non gameplay point of view, would have to be the need for saveable team lineups and tactics when playing online. I only have 1 minutes to do these things and it isn't long enough!

Just vsed a custom team online, something like cats - big cats. I though you couldn't do that. They quit anyway after I was kicked 3 goals in the first.

Good game. Lacks polish but really that can be easily forgiven, the mechanics are solid and it's really fun to get a run on and slot a goal. My only real problem with it so far is that set shots are way, waaaay too easy. That and there is too little variation in a players kicking length. No matter who gets the ball on the 50 line they can kick a goal every time, makes spotting up a forward fairly pointless. But it is fun and is a huge leap ahead of every other AFL game so I hope it sells well enough to warrant a sequel to fix some of the minor complaints up.

The new kicking system arsed me to tears in my first few games, especially using the two different buttons, but after getting into it, it's my favourite part.

It injects a little bit of a challenge into each shot, no matter how easy the line up might be, something that was seriously lacking in the older games.

Tell you what, nailing a 50m bomb with Naitanui from the boundary line, I almost cried.

Defending in general play is probably my biggest gripe, either the players give too much room and you're straight in your defensive 50, or they play their man too close and you have to go through 3 or 4 ball-ups to get a clearance. Not a deal-breaker though.

Also, I think it's a bit too easy to play-on inadvertently when marking in general play. I've run on for a mark, and just by keeping my hand on the joystick a second too long, it thinks I want to play on and I lose the ball. Is there an option to line up a kick, like the set shot for goal?

Has anyone been able to use the lock on system when kicking on the run? I cant seem to switch between players to kick to using the right stick. I think its a bug.

Hate this kick and hope crap.

Why cant passing be like FIFA where you simply point the stick in the direction you want to kick/handpass and it will go there, instead of having to use the miniscule power bar below the player that is barely visable. Would make the game flow so much better.

Still have gripes with the cameras - woeful. End to end balanced is the best, expcet it hovers at the 50m mark when the ball is in the defensive 50, and you cant see crap!!!

How small is your TV? Looks fine on mine?

What sort of scores are people getting for a 10 minute match on average? Excluding thrashings or games where one teams dominated.

On Veteran difficulty, I am actually getting pretty accurate scores, generally between 90-120. I've only had one thrashing, 140-odd to 60-odd.

With this also comes realistic stats, except for the fact that Travis Cloke seems to be the major ball winner every game, and an outside chance for the brownlow. (I am playing as Collingwood)

Yeah I do this a lot too, pretty sure you can only play on when holding the sprint button, so take your finger off it just before you take the mark.

I've only played a NAB Cup so far, but scores are pretty accurate, 40-50 range for the half-games, 80-100 for the full ones.

Only problem is that I won the game 5.16 to 7.2, but this was with West Coast so it might be intentional.

Gee wiz this game is a shocker - how you could release this game and have a asking price of $90 it beyond me. $49.95 would be the max you would wanna sell this game. And if this game was anything but AFL I'm pretty sure "I" would be back at Eb game asking for my money back.

I'll keep the game though hopefully BigAnt make enough from it to built on this and make it alot better next time around.

-How you can get tackled every time you picked the ball up is a shocker gotta handball every time you go near the ball or kick of the ground.

-On easy as you can get and still getting smashed. come on if you put it on easy you should be able to walk though the game and get the hang of it.

-Interchanging is shocking. its like they say right Fletcher is tall so he can play ruck. Hille goes to the backline and swaps with feletcher. next wrt Hooker goes to ruck and i have no idea what happen to Hille.
next Qrt Hooker goes walk abouts cant find him what so ever. Hilles back in the rucks.

-Picking your team OMFG is all i can say who ever idea it was to make picking you starting team like that need taken out the back and hit over the head. How easy and common scene to have a photo of a ground with the players names. and make it simple to change and fix players.

- Match tactics are pretty simple - i don't mind it like that keep it simple.

-Rucking - have no idea what I'm doing

- Marking - it seems like its a different button every time i go to mark.

Overall id give it a 2/10 and that 2 is only for trying to make a AFL game

^^ Most of your complaints stem from not knowing the controls and how to play. Give it time, RTFM, master the controls and you'll enjoy it a lot more. You won't be the first to eat your words.

I'm really enjoying the game. No freezes or anything like that so far.

As I have gotten better (first online win this morning) I have enjoyed it more and more. I am able to see players in space, and just like a real game, a chain of handbells followed by a long kick works well and is immensely satisfying.

Biggest gripe so far - not knowing who you are playing against online as the game happens. Why have a rating for reliability when you don't see this rating until AFTER you have played them?

FIFA does have a power bar though. If you simply pressed X to kick the ball 20m or 50m then it would get stale quick and takes skill out of passing the ball around.

I do agree that set shots are a bit easy, my mate the other night nailed at least 4 checkside shots in a row which shouldn't really happen.

It also seems like I am one of the few people who actually enjoyed getting smashed on the easiest difficulty.

Seems to be a lot of this on the forums.

Seems to be a recurring theme, I know I was frustrated with it in my first few games. However I preserved took time to read the manual and practice different attributes. I.e I would go into one game and concentrate on my spoiling etc.

After a while it all just clicks and it changes up completely.

You talk about AFL 99 - I'm assuming you are familiar with all the other games that came after too. Surprised that you haven't acknowledged Live 11 is easily the best AFL title ever. Since you're stopping already, I'm assuming you put the other titles into permanent storage half an hour after purchase.

Yep, sure did put them away. It might well be the best AFL game yet, but not sure what this means, just because it's an AFL game I have to play it? I appreciate how AFL could be quite difficult to create, but I can't pay $110 for this. This is not because I am a bad player and it's sour grapes, ask the boys on bigfooty who couldn't get within 10 goals of me! Look, it's a starting point, and they will work on it, hopefully take into account some feedback from everybody. It's something to build on for the next title.

will do - getting smashed every game . but oh well ill stick to it.:thumbsu:

Haven't gotten smashed yet, but lost my first game of the season against Richmond (I drew in my first game ever. Cloke kicked it out on the full with a few seconds left...). It's definitely growing on me. Just demolished St Kilda with Dawes kicking 9.4.
