Not adding anything here with.... also a fan of Mono and Explosions…

But a little surprised there’s no Laura? – highly enjoyable live - an underrated Melb band IMO.

I really like some of the names you guys have brought up:

Mono & Russian Circles aren't the first names that come up, but both their last discs are worthy of any collection.

Godspeed are great at any time, with "Skinny Fists" being their best for mine.

I am though surprised no-one has brought up, Stars of the Lid.
Some of the better ambient slanted Post Rock you will find.

Not sure of how many of you good people got to see Sigur Ros when here a couple of years back.
Jonsi may not be the most talented musician around, but he has his heart in the right place.
I'd never seen Festival Hall squirm and tear as it did through Svenf-G-Englar.
Just f...ing brilliant and worth the price of admission just for that track alone. :thumbsu:

Omit does have a good point though, the genre cloud seems highly generalist, but I tend to like most of the bands that do fall under the aforementioned cloud, so there is at least a minor link, however thin that may be.

Are Yo la tengo classified as post rock? They would be one of my favourites.

What about Modest Mouse?

Thread needed a timely bump.

Anyone heard the new Caspian LP yet? There’s been a real absence of quality music put out this year, but this was very decent.

Are there any We Lost The Sea fans on Bigfooty? Arguably the best post rock band in the world at the moment.
