Do we need to start thinking about just what is going to happen if Devonport roles over, clubs start shaking at the knees and regional football, once again, becomes a reality?

OR, perhaps the breakaway Super League that was discussed between some clubs back in July will be back on the agenda.

OR, should the AFL TAS administration have a clean out, and be replaced with people that have the best interests of Tasmanian football at the forefront.

Enough is surely enough.

Definitely this option.

The clubs don't have the money to form a breakaway league.

Defenitaly we need a clear out at AFL tasmania, even if the Scot Wase era had been succesfull (WHICH IT HAS CLEARLY NOT BEEN) 12 years plus is about time for a new firm hand on the tiller:footy:

Now we have been informed that Wade is behind a push for Hobart to almalgamte with Kingborough and relocate to Kingston??? Relocate to another city WTF are you serious. The HFC pres has been in covert discussion apparently from what was presented to the board at the AGM?, he appears to be the only one convinced that this will work though, n ot a lot of support. I for one believe that if the club does this it will cease to exist, just like Sandy Bay did. How can the capital city not have a club?? The HCC has a sporting precinct plan for the Domain, why leave it to go to a ground in the middle of a paddock which has no facilities. A more realtistic merger would be Hobart and Nth Hob, based at TCA playing home games at Nth Hobart (Nth Hobart is off limits pretty much all summer). The HCC could relocate Nth Hobart cricket club to Nth Hobart and the new merger team could base at TCA fulltime or (but this wont happen) let footy be on Nth Hobart 12 mths of the year??

Wade and his mates need to go, too many ex footballers with no business sense and skills running the sport, just not professional enough, its like letting kids loose in a candy store with an endless money tree!

I'm not sure a merger between North Hobart and Hobart would work or is entirely neccessary. I see your logic, but the fact that Hobart are struggling, and have the disadvantage that is the TCA, doesn't mean that another club needs to lose its identity as well. That's not to say North Hobart are in the black and on the up in all areas though.

It's just the sad state of football in Tasmania that is turning people away. The constant quarrelling in-house, north vs. south and administration vs. the punters that is turning people away.

The brand and standard of football at TSL level isn't a poor one, it's more so the fact that there's no opportunity for growth due to the amount of disruption and uncertainty that the current administration inflicts upon it.

The fact is that no one is happy with or applauds Wade & Co. Essentially, everyone blames them for the mess that is football in this state. And that's well within reason, because they truly are to blame for the majority of issues that surface.

But how and who gets rid of them? Who do they answer to?
If it's the AFL then there is no organisation in the land that cares less about Tasmanian football than them.

I told you all that this would happen. Standard Baker form right there.

So from what we've seen in the report, we can now deduct that the article printed in The Mercury newspaper on 4 June this year and the resultant mailout to financial members to debunk rumours and innuendo over a move to relocate Hobart to Kingborough and a probable amalgamation with the existing club down there was a complete, unadulterated lie!

Here's the article to refresh the memory:
:diamond: The Mercury: 4 June 2010 - Tigers shred new den rumour - Click here

Well. Seems someone has been telling a few 'fibs' haven't they?
Just like they told a few 'fibs' about seven years ago when they mailed out a newsletter to all financial members and announced it at an AGM that 'the Hobart Football Club would not be changing its colours or jumper at any stage' - of course, 12 months later they were known as the Hobart Lions and wearing foreign colours.
Howzat for being honest with your constituents in the club! Very.. :thumbsd:

Then, there's the certain little problem of members at last night's AGM being presented with what can be rather loosely termed as 'rubbery' financial figures that came under close scrutiny and were found to be 'somewhat' odd! :o
After three hours of fearsome debate and questioning by angry members, the meeting was closed down and it will be reconvened in January 2011 to address these matters and other such matters which are yet to be resolved.

What a mess. But, when you muck about those very people that help keep your club ticking over week by week (that's right, the supporters), you will lose them.
You lose your diehard, dedicated supporters and you will never get them back and you are absolute history.
Hobart has lost hundreds of such people in the past 10-15 years.
It has has absolutely nothing to do with where we play our matches, or because the ground isn't up to 2010 standard, it's about the club's pathetic lack of ability to be honest and open in their dealings.
Not much point in blokes like Cam Day having a cry about people complaining about the club and not giving the board solutions when they've already been doing that for many, many years and have gotten absolutely nowhere because their ears appear to have been stolen by the 'ear fairy' at some stage.

It's starting to resemble some of these sorts running the joint up there..

Having been around the club for 35+ years, I personally think that could be the end of the club.
It's disappointing because, all we want to do is play up here in the inner-city in the Black & Gold, cheer the players on and yell "Car'n Tiges!" each week.

Great post kingpin and winchester.

The fix is to pop themselves back in the SFL keeping their idenity and win some flags.

Wade is on the money wanting a Tsl team out of Kingborough.this is only logical.

For hobart Its either the SFL option or merge with Nth Hobart otherwise the club is gone.

This has been on the agenda for a while someone I know who was discussing with Scott Wade the proposed lights at the TCA, they were told:
“By 2012 there will be no SWL games played there (TCA), the Hobart Football Club will be based at Kingston by then”

I was told this late October of this year.

Not the most passionate football follower around the state, but i do keep up on what is happening around the State.

Wade has to go. Disgraceful by him, trying to get a club to move from its roots to another part of the state. He should have no say in what a club wants to do. A club is its fans, so let its fans decide what to do, without Wades big head in the bloody way.

I noticed he called that the Devonport board members should resign after the mess they have gotten themselves into. Nothing wrong with that, but i like this quote in the Advocate.

CEO Scott Wade said yesterday directors in charge of the club's finances "should have done the honourable thing and resigned".
Well, stop being a hypocrite and resign.

Well because almost every club does back door deals with AFL Tasmania the simple fact is that no-one will ever lead a charge and rid the cancer that is the current AFL Tasmania board and administration.

Put simply little Hitler is the master strategist and manipulator and everyone bends over and takes it from him.

Talk to anyone off the record and they want him & others gone, but when it comes to the crunch no-one has the guts to stand up,demand change and truly take this issue on.

I am included in this but at least I reveal my identity and they know within their 4 walls my very thoughts.

But I am just one small individual who loves the sport and at the end of the day is really a no-body.

Until 10 clubs unite and have a common goal then nothing will change.

so to every club president/board, if you whinge and do nothing you deserve what you get! Hobart will at least make a move, rubbery figures were quoted, I am told no figures were given at all and 3 rats deserted the ship. The club will continue but I suspect In january Stevenson and co will have a new president because the old one is on the nose.

The players and the coaches are moving along fine, some players have left but only natural attrition but some exciting ones returning and half a dozen new recruits. It also appears that more players are doing a big pre season so expect a very fit side on the paddock in 2011, avg 25-30 per session this pre season, last year same time it was 15-20 max
