If Phil Walsh and Scott Burns vacate their respective Strategy & Innovations and Midfield Coaching positions, who do you think WCE will replace them with?

There's many assistant coaches chasing just 3 Head Coach roles. Potentially we could pick up an assistant coach or two from those that don't land a Head Coach position. Here's Sportsbet's list of potential applicants for the 3 vacant Head Coach roles:

Comprehensive List there Silver , but try Paul Halseby .

Halseby has completed a level Coaching Certificate , is keen on coaching and has had experience at SF this year . Halseby seems a pretty smart person and would be a first up risk but could be excellent . Experienced coaches to get in would be Laidley or McPhee from Claremont .

Scott Waters?

Huge Success at Subiaco and now an assistant coach at Collingwood. Would he want to come back to WA? He is originally a WA boy so hopefully could be persuaded to come back.

Neil Craig? Lol. No thanks.

I'd think Neil Craig would be outstanding as an assistant personally

Strikes me as the sort of bloke who would do well running a particular line - as well as bring a number of other skills to the club

would absolutely love scott watters back in WA.
has been amazing at collingwood as well as back at subi

he's more a defensive coach from memory though,
scott burns seems the one we will would likely lose and he is our midfield coach

Gets my vote - though he might be thinking about a top job so might be better he stays in Melb

Been very very impressed with Simon Mcphee from claremont.

Bill Monghan from west perth as well they are stand out WAFL coaches.

Scott waters would like as well

Neil Craig would bring a wealth of info to the club.

Coaching setup has really delivered this year, obviously building on their work preparing for the season. Those two would not be easy to replace.

Would like to see Mcphee get a role in some capacity. He is a top bloke and the turnaround he created at Claremont since taking over was very impressive.

Losing Walsh would be disastrous, I firmly believe he has been instrumental to our turn around.

Honeslty, I would like B Cousins as a midfield coach. I think he knows a midfield set-up back to front, and I think he knows how to get the best out of himself. If he is in a good place these days, and been clean why not?

As for strategic coach, I would have no idea who would be good for that.

Best plan, keep what we have got. Surely we can open up the treasure chest and entice them to stay.

Just being devil's advocate here, as I would love him at the club, but don't know if he is really the best person for the job.

We don't have a similar midfield set-up to when Cuz was here, so what good would that do? Do you think he was a great strategist anyway? I think he was a great trainer and awesome motivator, however I question his capability as a tactician.

Obviously it would be interesting to see but his job is primarly surely about training ethic, getting the best out of yourself and stoppage work. Despite the rest of the game changing, stoppage work hasn't changed dramatically.

Despite the troubles he went through, I still think of him as a club champion and he would get a lot of hero worship I think. Would certainly encourage the younger guys to work their butt off to impress him :)

Dean Wallis might be looking for a job!!!

If Burns does get the job at Adelaide - then I could think of worse people to chase than Mark Bickley. Like Burns he is well respected and comes with very little fanfare.

Throw the kitchen sink at Walsh its not like we dont have the cash might as well use it. Why would you want to go back to port power anyways he would probaly have to buy his own pens.

Unfortunately the club will not have Cuz back to consider this type of coaching capacity in the short term, should Burns leaves. There needs to be more time between Ben adapting to life outside of footy and an evolving of current team mates before he would be accepted back into the eagles in some coaching role.
The aftermath of cuz's departure and highly publicized drug problem, royal commission into the WCE club and indifferent views & concerns of prospective draftees over the last few years and the unfair suggestion of 2006 premiership being tainted, are just a few reasons why the club would not be in a hurry to consider this romantic idea. We need to try and keep Walsh in my opinion and go after a Ricciuto or Harvey as a replacement for Burns if he goes.

Scott Burns and Mark Neeld are the final 2 for the Crows coach..

Shame if we lose Burns but all the best to him!
