i started this thread seeking answers, go to the start, i asked why is there still poverty.

Did you actually think you could make this claim and others would think "Well I guess you're right, I'll take that claim at face value, and accept that's what your OP was about?

"Act of God" means one thing and one thing only (in this context). Once again you show your naivety and inability to learn by your mistakes by guessing that this can be interpreted differently.

Now that someone has told you what it means you should go back and read the bit where I first used it so you understand the context of what I said. Intelligent people (of which you aspire to be) are open to learning.

I answered them, i said that training people to mine wouldnt be hard, ofcourse mining is a example, training people isnt going to be as hard as you say it will be. and to the first question, why did australia donate 1 million dollars to the countries that were hit by the tsunami? Answer that question please.

The reason is those nations are our close neighbours and we are trying to build better relations in Asia because we need that political climate to be more stable and open to our nation as a whole.

Donating to Africa does absolutely nothing politically or socially for Australia.

Like it or not we are part of the Asian community now, not African,

How did you work this one out? He was asked about 6 questions staright off the bat that exposed gaping holes in his argument. He would have had to read each of those questions and think them over. He had no comeback - therefore he knows that his argument is flawed.

Anyway i tried with this thread, dont forget om only 15 ive still got alot ot learn. Also i think ive got answers on poverty, but finally do you think that in 100 years things will be the same in africa. Oh and bunsen burner, you post at all hours, i hope you arent on the doll and living in poverty.

Here's another thought that probably hasn't crossed your mind yet:

Industry creates greenhouse gases. There's 6.5b people on the planet. 1b in China, 1b in India, 1b in Africa. China is going through an industrial revolution. What happens if Africa do too? Do you think that much stress on our environment is sustainable?

Too hard to tell. But one thing I do know - western govts will not be paying for their infrastructure. It's just not feasible. You might get private companies trying to turn a buck, but Govts mostly look after themselves - and with good reason.

Most people who get Centrelink payments live below the poverty line. Yeah Yeah you might think that's funny and you want to pick on them but look it is reality and if you don't believe it then go and live in the real world.
You might make fun of where people live but to them that is life and it is their home so get over it and let them live in peace.
You might find that these people go to op shops and buy all their clothes and groceries from there. So what it is their means of life.
So those people who are on Centrelink payment who go and spend it all on booze and say that you don't have any money think of other people before yourself. Reality check.

I think it would be more constructive to focus on the fact that he is interested in doing something about poverty rather than on the issue of the flaws in his arguments, while the latter obviously need to be recognised. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

To be honest i dont care about your thoughts or opinions, at the end of the day your just another loser who only cares about sleeping in, eating and drinking beer, i still plan on helping people live easier lives. Actual my focus is on the cold hard truth - the cold hard truth that us humans act out of self interest. It's been that way for eternity and history shows it. All of a sudden a 15 year old yout thinks he can change the world or the world win do it by itself.

How romantic. If unrealistic ideals enable you to sleep at night then good for you. I myself acknowledge the bad side of human nature and have learnt to understand and accept it. No need for lying to myself.

If you are truly smart and want to learn, that's not the mind set to have.

And you shouldn't call other people ignorant when the whole premice of your first statements were flawed.

A nice sentiment none the less, but a flawed and impractical one.

Sometimes to understand the present you need to go back along way to the start to get a grasp of why things are.

Perhaps reading about the history of Africa would be a good start.
