What do you think of them..Personally I rekon they are a great band :)

I won tickets to their triple J live on the wireless show last monday... they hadnt played together for months and still sounded excellent. They'r the best australian band since INXS i say

Some dodgy songs (the beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs, beachs)

But overall, reasonably good

7.5/10

I like them, I was nearly going to buy Vulture Street :p

Do you own any other PF albums? Don't start with Vulture Street. Try Double Allergic, Internationalist, or Odyssey Number Five. Brilliant albums. Vulture Street isn't bad (and agreed with otaku - Sunsets is ordinary), but it's nothing on those three albums.

Anyway...yeah, I love them. Saw them last December and am seeing them again in January. Can't wait.

Favourite songs from each album:

Parables for Wooden Ears: Walking Stick, Grave Concern
Double Allergic: d.a.f., Pick You Up, Living Type
Internationalist: Passenger, Already Gone, The Day You Come, Capoicity
Odyssey Number Five: Up & Down & Back Again (overall favourite), My Kinda Scene, These Days, Thrilloilogy
Vulture Street: Love Your Way, A Song Called Everything

That was too hard. :(

Their two new songs - Bless My Soul and Process This, are different again. Like them both, prefer Process This.

Second only in the boring arse Australian bands stakes to Something For Kate. I just don't get it.

I think I'm siding with Mog here. Although I really love These Days, I'm very meh about Powderfinger. And as for Something For Kate they're really meh.

I like them.

Wasn't until Odyssey #5 that I disassociated them from the usual MMM MOR adult contempory crap. But the thing that still irked me was that they seemed one dimensional. Too many songs that were slow only to pick up in the chorus (Already Gone amongst others). Also wasn't sure whether Bernard Fanning's voice was flexible enough to last much longer without boring me to tears. Upon listening to Vulture St I'm of the opinion he has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard.

Vulture St is there best album by a long way. As others have mentioned the only bit that irks me is that Beaches Beaches Beaches bit in Sunsets. Not exactly single material either, but better than the filler you find on almost all albums.

don't mind the boys, bought parables off ebay the other day... thought it would've sounded a bit different, but in fact it was very similar to the stuff they play now... favourite cd would have to be internationalist...

Love 'em, although funnily enough I've only just bought my first album of theirs, and it's the best of album at that.

Might build up the back catalogue after Christmas.

Already Gone is the best song. My Happiness closely second.

They were great when they used to play rock songs. They stopped in about 1998 didn't they?

So I 'don't mind them'. If they hadn't gone all ballad and chart, I'd probably like them a little more.
