Be interesting to see how the Roos go this weekend against us with all this controversy hanging around them. This whole incident is enough to ruin their season......

They may come to Perth a little bit demoralized I don't know. I'm not sure how will they react to this huge blow. It's a pity because this match was a good measure of our abilities since the Kangas were playing quite well.

Will go one of the two following ways:

You will see a group of disheartened, sad footballers going through the motions

or

They will go absolutely mental and kick the bejesus out of everything and everyone, ie most North v Coasters game;)

An interesting game to watch, i think. Also, its worth noting that our chemistry might not be all that crash-hot. All the drug related allegations floating around have got to play havoc with the clubs preparation

If we can keep that bloody Byron Pickett under control (I think we all remember that game last season) then we'll win easily. North are a very dispirited side at the moment.

By the way, who here is going?

Since we're allowed to sit anywhere at prac matches, how about we all meet up?
I should warn you though, I tend to swear a lot while watching footy. :)

If you think the side will be dispirited, you obviously do not know the club or the players, and support a prissed up team in a one horse town (freo do not count) that don't have the guts to bounce back from this sought of event.

If you believe that ANY team is going to recover from this kind of disaster in under a week, you need your head read.

Who said recover?

I am simply stating that they will not simply allow themselves to get thrashed by a second rate football team. There too much pride involved.

Look NorthGirl you may be talkin it up now but by the end of the season its more than likely going to be your team who looks second rate.

If anyone gets some details and posts em here about the practice match I might get there depending on times and so forth but I , like buzz must warn everyone in advance about the volume and colourfulness of my language at games.

I believe it's Subi 12.40 (yeah, I know) and they'll probably corrall us into a tiny part of the 2 tier stand to save the insurance cover.

Our club is not second rate, and even if this whole Carey issue hadn't come up, I still would have been predicting an Eagles win.

Just a shame we won't get to see another Carey flogging at the hands of the true king, Glen Jakovich. :p

Banfield has been named in the squad, but I guess we'll have to wait until Saturday to see if he actually plays.
Wouldn't surprise me if he does. You can tell that Woosha has enourmas respect for Banners, and really wants him to play in Rnd1.

Look at our team. Isn't great to have a full squad (or close to it) again.
Interesting that Siera didn't make the cut.

West Coast Eagles:
1 - Michael Gardiner 3 - Chris Judd 4 - Daniel Kerr 6 - Drew Banfield 7 - Chad Fletcher 8 - Richard Taylor 9 - Ben Cousins 10 - Michael Braun 11 - Ashley McIntosh 15 -Callum Chambers 18 - Rowan Jones 20 - Dean Cox 21 - Mark Merenda 22 - Michael Collica 23 - Darren Glass 27 - Glen Jakovich 28 - Ashley Sampi 30 - Peter Matera 32 - Andrew Embley 33 - Phil Matera 35 - Kasey Green 37 - Andrew Williams 38 - David Haynes 40 - Troy Wilson 41 - Jeremy Humm 44 - David Wirrpunda 46 - Trent Carroll 48 - Brent Tuckey

Kangaroos:
3 - Brady Rawlings 5 - Jason McCartney 6 - Shannon Grant 7 - Adam Simpson 8 - Joe McLaren 9 - Jess Sinclair 11 - Glenn Archer 13 - Dylan Smith 14 - Daniel Harris 17 - Mark Porter 20 - Drew Petrie 21 - Corey Jones 22 - Matthew Burton 23 - Shane Clayton 24 - Rod Crowe 25 - David Bourke 26 - Saverio Rocca 27 - Adam Lange 28 - Byron Pickett 29 - Brent Harvey 30 - Ben Robbins 34 - David King 35 - Troy Makepeace 36 - Shannon Watt 38 - John Baird 39 - Leigh Harding 44 - Shannon Motlop 45 - Stuart Cochrane

After this whole Carey thing i think North have firmed for the wooden spoon and as sad as it is we could see North Melbourne go belly up within a year...oh and we should beat them on Saturday :D

I'll put it down for a definate win this weekend.

GO EAGLES!!

Dissappointing not to se Sierra on the team of 28. Anyone know if he is injured again? Also Gaspar.

Brauny is there so hopefully his ankle is okay.

No Josh the 'Docker spoon' or Greg the 'wonderful.'

I reckon it'll be good for Siera to build up some solid match fitness in the WAFL.
He's a huge bloke, and it'll take him a while to get confidence back in his knee again.

Hopefully he and Gas can perform well in the Wafl, and put some pressure on the senior squad.
It'll be fantastic if we can get players competeing for spots in the side.

This is only a practice match - I see it as a chance to get some of that match fitness and play in his (hopefully) regular team, and then give him a couple of WAFL games. IMO, if fit, he should have been in.
