Pratt Money talks
He also sought a list of the most urgent requirements on hold due to the club's financial woes and said: "Let's get them done."

Chief executive Michael Malouf delivered the list at Tuesday night's board meeting and the Visy Industries supremo immediately agreed to donate the required $300,000.

The Blues have ordered desks, chairs and gym equipment for MC Labour Park, state-of-the-art equipment for the football department, air-conditioning for the change rooms, and will replace worn carpet and paint various areas that have been allowed to run down.
Pratt told staff to forget about money matters and start having fun at work.

One observer said: "Richard just said, 'I'm telling you now money is no longer a problem'.

"It was all pretty informal. He said, 'Hi, I'm Richard Pratt, let's have a cup of tea'."
This is more great news. :thumbsu:

I must admit I am surprised at the positive impact Pratt has made at our club. The whole atmosphere seems more upbeat and positive. Pratt's business credentials, make all other Club presidents, like Eddie, look like amateurs. :)

5K up despite a last place season, and before the pre-season has even started. That is f*cking incredible.

What we need to appreciate is that almost all other Vic Clubs would have been out of business by now, if they had to endure what we did. The Blues have a massive supporter base, and I think our inevitable success after going through this temporary hardship, will make our supporter base grow faster than it would otherwise. We are a superpower Club, and our team's onfield efforts will reflect that in the near future. This is the start of an exciting success era at Carlton, and you sense everyone wants to be a part of it. :)

Exactly 100% spot on Parrot.
I would urge every supporter that hasn't taken up a membership to do so, 'cause I really think we are going to be in for one hell of a ride.

I know he says it's about us all, but gee I'd love them to have a win for him and keep the ball rolling.
I sincerely thank him for putting his hand up when required. Tilt of the hat.

Enormous supporter base, which is why we should be easily 30,000+ each year, and i'm sure this will come with on-field success. However, i'd really like the club to invest some time into setting up an automatic renewal thing kind of like what Essendon do.

Our Membership department have a lot of work to do IMO, however we are getting there. I just think that with the amount of carlton fans around the country, more shoudl be done by the club to make it easier and more inviting for these fans to cross the border into a membership supporter, and not just a 'supporter.'

Hopefully the club will look into this.

^^^^ I really think that we can push past 35,000 members this year, and combine that with what SM was saying on TC, we are well on our way to start clearing out that massive debt that has been choking the life out of this great club.

I'm thinking about starting a campaign to make HBF a moderator so he can bitch slap Buddy_Luv and the trolls. :thumbsu: :D

Yeah exactly! in fact, all sides in the AFL should be doing the same thing.

Magazine publishers use this trick all the time to keep subscribers signed up. The only way to get out of it, is to personally unsubscribe.

A vast amount of members will simply stay signed up wheather they want to be or not, either because they forget, or cant be bothered cancelling the membership.

No wonder Essendon is one of the best run victorian sides.
