Now moneybags has stood down from the Scum who is going to pay Chris Judas his under the table money?

Could not have happened to a better club, suck shit Carslcum.

He's 70's and he still hasn't leared. Money hungry pig, hope he has fun when being pumped in jail
Nah he'll come down with a mysterious illness, something to do with the heart probably and stay out of prison, all rich old crooks play the same card.

scum of the lowest order, yet the ____wit carlton "fans" are trying to defend the low life piece of shit.
one of them called him a hero:rolleyes:
anybody who has been around here a while could guess who it is pretty easily, pretty much a known fact as being the biggest moron on this website.

Fairly angry mob today aren't we.

The bloke told some porkies to try and deflect the illegal way he made some of his money.

Which Billionaire doesn't do this.

He had to stand down but will be back when the court case fails. ACCC track record is not to flash.

I hate him for leading the blues out of the wilderness but would have loved him if he was a tigers man - well i would have loved the money he would have brought us anyway - not him.

Just had a look on the Blues board regarding the Pratt Threads. I have never seen a bunch of sooks in my life like the Carlscum. I'm just waiting for one of them to offer their life in exchange for Pratts freedom. They are a sorry bunch and a pack of losers. Pratt should get everything he deserves and even though we haven't seen the evidance, the fact that his company was successfully prosecuted, reason would dictate that Pratt lied in order to railroad the initial investigation.

Today, is a good day for football.:thumbsu:

I'm still unable to view their board. Quote something so that I can chuckle at it.

i heard a carlton fan defending him saying he was only caught on lying in the hearing into the alleged price fixing by Visy and so he will only be given a penalty from that charge

but yet doesnt the fact that he was found to be lying in that hearing bring the result of the price fixing investigation into question and shouldnt a re-hearing be called?

suck shit carlscum, you can all rot for all i care now money bags gone you are all f***ed

Why? He was already found guilty from that one....( civl charge, massive fine ).

Knowingly lying to such a hearing is purgery, which is a criminal matter ( thus, upto 4 years of jail time ). That said, he'll probably get convicted, and as he's such an establishment figure, they'll let him off with a suspended sentence or home detention. Before you say that's 'soft', having a conviction against his name, which will affect his ability to travel internationally and hold company directorships and probably mean he can't be president of Carlton ( as they own pokies ).

I'm adopting a wait and see approach. He faces four years in prison ( a year for each of 4 charges), but may also only face a $2200 fine for each charge - so these penalties are designed to cover a broad spectrum of offences and we don't know how serious they are.

For mine, the fact that he was involved in a cartel is far, far worse than alledgedly lying to the ACCC.

It's a criminal offence - otherwise there wouldn't be any prison time involved. And let's not forget it's all allegations so far. Innocent until proven guilty (although for Patrick Smith it's guilty until proven innocent). From what I understand it's Pratt's word against some bloke from Amcor.

Given what Pratt has done for this club I reckon it should be his decision - and his decision alone - as to whether he remains as President, stands aside for the time being, or resigns.

And whatever happens, and if worst comes to worst, Pratty deserves all our support - everyone makes mistakes, and everyone does some decent things in life, nobody should be hung out to dry on making a mistake

This is a joke,

The media has been ferocious on him. I know he's done the wrong thing, colluding is bad etc etc, but wheres the media condemnation of Qantas, Woolworths/Coles, the Petrol/Oil industry, also good to see all the moral bandwagoners on the main board rejoice, half of them wouldnt even know what the ____s going on or even how the Visy/Amcor dealings affected them, just another reason to stick the boot into a resurgent Carlton.

But for these claims he has been charged which I guess means hes guilty I guess he's standing aside for the good of the club.

Thanks for the great work around the club Richard, it is most appreciated, I hope the players show it and come out and smash the Bombers.

Disappointing to see the big fella leave in this way, hopefully he gets off these serious charges and is not made to face a fair chunk of the last phase of his life locked up for a crime that lets face it whilst ethically and legally wrong, occurs in every industry where there are very few players involved. He is clearly being made an example of by the ACCC in this instance and its a shame for him, but as they say do the crime...and unfortunately he'll have to cop whatever the courts dish out.

He has been great for the club, as soon as he walked into the place the swagger came back to Carlton, he brought a little bit of his personal wealth on board but more importantly he brought other Carlton people in the business community back to the club, as well as Swann, who got us Icke who got us Judd, Pratt would have been instrumental in the Judd deal probably more so than any other person. I doubt very much whether he will come back as President even after he could be proven innocent given his age, but his work at Carlton is done, we are in a strong position off field and on field we are on the way up, its disappointing that he wont be at the helm to see us move up but i'm sure he'll be content watching from afar and putting his two bob in where necessary.

I wish the big man all the best and i thank him from the bottom of my heart for saving the club when it was literally on its knees.

Nobody folds boxes like Juddy. He'll keep his spot at Visy on his own merits!

i dont know much about the law and all that i just wondered whether there was any case for the original verdict and punishment to be changed given he was found guilty of lying

Possible, yes...

Likely, no.

He copped at $36million fine, and more importantly, it opened him, Visy & Amcor up to massive lawsuits from all the customers they've been ripping off ( as in hundreds of millions ).

Suffice to say, when all is done, Dicky wont be a billionaire any more.

Next time we sip a coffee in a paper cup we can all thank Visy

he will have heart problems ala Alan Bond, although in his defence he did do time.

Prat will live the rest of his days in luxury sitting in his presidential seat at carlton games.

Well said ...

BTW You guys once had Alan Bond as president, and he bloody ripped off ordinary australians as well, can't really defend Pratt's actions if he's guilty, but put in perspective, you guys would have loved someone with Pratt's wealth at Richmond, and hired the best personal staff to the club (IE Gregg Swann and the former fitness advisor to the Australian cricket team) ...

The Bloke has donated lots of money to charity as well over the years, and I think calling him 'scum' etc is a bit OTT ...
