I think the positive predictions are right on track.. Don't know why people are bothering putting negative ones up.. like saying we won't make the eight?? we had a very poor start to the season this year but a fairly good second half.. saying we won't make the eight is ridiculous.. there is no way we will do worse than this year, after all the injuries and a brand new coach everyone had to get use to.. we will be a cracking side next year with everyone prepped to get a full pre-season under their belts (which is an absolute key and very understated how important it really is)..

i'm not saying we'll be worse than last season.. you have to realize other teams will get better as well... brisbane, doggies, freo all missed the 8 last year and i rekon at least 2 of the 3 mentioned have better lists than we do

Bourky23, you are one of the very few on this site and SAINTSATIONAL who are able to look at St.kilda without ROSE-COLOURED-GLASSES. I think your prediction above is spot on. You are absolutely correct regarding the Lions, Dogs and Dockers. I expect at least 2 of them to finish higher than us for sure. You also have got Richmond and Carlton who will improve. The 3 teams that will be on the slide are Sydney, Adelaide and St.kilda. This is why I am predicting St.kilda will finish anywhere between 10th and 14th. Of course nearly all the posters are saying top 8 and a lot are saying top 4. Don't get me wrong, I hope they are correct, but unfortunately I don't think so.....and neither do you.

Although I agree that everyone else will be improving as well I think you may be underestimating how good a side we can actually be. Unless we have key players go down with injury we should be looking at a top 6 spot no questions asked. We still have stars and they are hiting there prime.

We had a first year coach this year and it takes time to get used to the new style. If the season began from round 11 onwards we would have finished 3rd and we were within 3 goals in the 4th quarter in every game. That is a positive sign going into next year. That said it will still be very hard to climb the ladder but we definitely have the resources to do so. Just my thoughts anyway

First of all modra and helen get a room.!
Saints will finish top 8 next year without a doubt. With all the reitrees they will have a stronger younger side freseher legs and i can see them making top 4.! You talk about the sides that are also going to improve but you didnt mention sides that will slide :
In my opinion, eagles, kangas, adelaide, sydney and maybe a few more, stkilda supporters you have nothing to worry about you will make a good challenge next year

And to all those nimwits with the pessimistic attitudes... - If you don't want to be passionate and optimistic about St Kilda FC then go find another hobby.. sport.. team.. whatever.. this is what it's all about..

Surely you've got better things to do than come on here and waste your time trolling ??

Sorry, forgot....school holidays.

ooh... and you are? Mate, I've been a member ever since I've started following st kilda - and It's been YEARS since I've been to a school of any sort... How about you check the history of the poster before you accuse him / her of being a troll??

Funny... you are the smart bloke, right? I am probably more of a nimwit following St Kilda. A club whose fans call other "FELLOW ST KILDA SUPPORTERS" names just cause they have a different world view... I thought being passionate about a club can also mean despairing when things are not going great, and being realistic as well... But, HEY, I am the nimwit and you are the smart, lovable positive St Kilda supporter, aye?
