PRELIMINARY FINAL - When will Hawks play?

Going by the previous 2 or 3 seasons, both Preliminary Final's have been played on the Saturday.

But it's been a while since both Prelim's were played in Melbourne

What is the schedule for this year?

I can't see the AFL scheduling a game on the Sunday - so I can only assume that there will be one Prelim on the Friday night at the G and next one on Saturday afternoon or night at the G?

Has anything been confirmed?

And are Hawks more likely to play the Friday night? or the Saturday/night?

Thanks for posting this topic as I was thinkiing the same question. i am hoping for friday night against collingwood (we will smash them) as I have to work all weekend and will miss watching it live.

last year the Cats were on top and played theirs on the Fri nite, with Port in 2nd spot hosting theirs on the sat arvo

am guessing Geelong will again get the friday nite and the extra 16 or so hours to recover as reward for finishing on top - and we will play at the G on the Saturday!!!

It will definately be a Saturday game as the pies and saints are playing on Saturday the week before and there would be a riot if they only got a 6 day break. Swans v dogs is on the Friday so assume winner of that will meet the cats the following Friday.

According to the media, it looks 99% likely there will be 2 night games and we will play the Sat night.
