Gary Ablett/Daniel Kerr - X Factor, matchwinner, gun
James Bartel/Chris Masten - Inside distributor, not quick but can run all day
Joel Corey/Tom Swift - Quick, tall, quality skills
Joel Selwood/Luke Shuey - Tough, great tackler, mainly inside player but quick enough to play outside
James Kelly/Brad Ebert - All rounder, ticks all boxes, gets the job done
Paul Chapman/Shannon Hurn - Big body, receding hairline
Cameron Ling/Adam Selwood - defensive minded but not dirty, Crowley stylez
David Wojinski/Ashley Smith - Super quick, loves to kick long

Don't blame me for dreaming! Can't wait to see how it pans out in a couple of years

Oh, in answer to the next question, I'm not sure where this leaves Priddis, Butler, Fletcher, Staker, Stinger etc!

looks good. Butler is maybe the prismall guy who is too good to be a reserve but is just rally unlucky. Rooke=Lynch? Scooter=enright?

Yep, Masten is pretty damn quick, and a pretty big kick too.

Our future midfield looks great, add Cox and Naitanui running around...

It'll take longer than a couple of years.

Priddis will be in there.

The great thing is that Masten, Ebert, Swift, Shuey, Hurn, Staker, Smith are all goal kicking midfielders which was something we relied on Judd Cousins Embley to do in our peak. This means we can spread the workload from our top 3 midfielders - Masten Ebert Swift.

Now the even better thing is that we will actually have a quality forward line to kick to in 2 years time with Brown, Kennedy, McKinley, Lecras. This will ease the reliance on the midfield to kick goals. Any goals from our midfielders will just be cream.

We are a crumber or 2 away from building our future premiership squad.

I prefer the inside/outside method

Inside - Masten, Shuey, Priddis, S. Selwood, A. Selwood, Stenglein,

Both - Ebert, Swift, Hurn, Staker, Butler, Kerr

Outside - LeCras, Rosa, Houlihan, Smith, McNamara, Embley

Bold - top 20 draft picks

We are going to be clearance kings in a few years. Not only have we got allot of clearance inside players but we have quality ones too, Naita, Kerr, Masten, Ebert, Priddis (A little less so). I would say Ebert and Staker are going to be our greatest outside/finishing mids.

Trading to Gold Coast to get a pick that secures Brandon Matera could be important in the future.

I'm stoked that in addition to last year's batch, we managed to secure some blistering pace, sacrificing very little height with the shortest player taken what, 185cm? Handy ball-winners / distributors too.

Nice little nucleus starting to form...

Where does this leave Priddis, Butler, Fletcher, Staker, Stinger etc?

Their is no way Shuey, Swift, Smith, Hurn etc will have that much of an impact this season or next. Two more years is maybe all Stinger has left. Same goes for Fletcher, so those two will move aside as the new kids get better and better. The circle of life.

Staker isnt a midfielder.

Priddis will be thereabouts.

People seem to forget just how good Butler is.

On what basis do you say that about Hurn...coming back from injury?
