Great awareness by Henry, not a lot from Villa. If the can't get themselves ready in time to defend a free kick then more fool them.
Interesting to see O'Leary whinge that the (almost) exactly the same situation when Ian Harte took an early free kick against Arsenal a few years back wasnt relevant. Does Houllier have a challenger for the hypocrite of the year award.
[edit]Halsey was just on and explained himself very well. He was standing alongside Henry, and gave him the option of taking a quick free kick, or getting the ten yards. Henry chose the quick free kick so Halsey moved back and signalled that the free kick could be taken. He explained the Angel decision later, gave him the same option and Angel took the ten yards. Halsey then was in the process of moving the wall back when Angel wanted to take the kick.

I thought you had to wait for the ref to blow his whistle, and then you can take the free kick? From what I seen, he didn't blow his whistle.
I watched what he done in the next few free kicks and no-one took them until the whistle was blown. Is this a rule or am kidding myself?

Hammann for Germany vs. England World CUp qualifier at Wembley,
Beckham - cant remember who it was against,
Ian Harte for Leeds against us 2 years ago,
Claus Jensen for Charlton vss West Ham 2 seasons back.
ALL of those are basically the same as what Henry did, but only when it's an Arsenal player does it become an international crime. Sheesh. There's nothing wrong with the first goal.
The second goal was given because Kanu knew he'd be fouled if he kept running. So he did. Penalty. Henry. Goal.
