Jolly - Grundy
Daisy - Adams
Shaw - Scharenberg*
Didak - Fasolo/Elliott
Johnson - Williams
Wellingham - J Thomas
Maxwell - Seedsman
L Brown - White
Dawes - Keeffe (To release Reid forward)

Average age of premiership players = 29yrs

Average age of replacement players = 22yrs

Is the quality there going forward?

Jolly - Grundy

It might take some time for Grundy to reach Jolly's 2010 form, but yep :thumbsu:

Daisy - Adams

Never took notice of Adams' game, but he'd have to be a real gun to replace Daisy's 2010 form. I guess Adams would be considered more of a replacement for Ball?

Shaw - Scharenberg*

Dunno

Didak - Fasolo/Elliott

Yep, here's hoping Fas has a breakout year

Johnson - Williams

Yep, the future is now. :thumbsu:

Wellingham - J Thomas

Yep

Maxwell - Seedsman

Disagree. I see Seed being more of the Heath Shaw type than the Nick Maxwell type.

L Brown - White

I remember all the hype around Q-Stick this time last year, so reserving judgement on White.

Dawes - Keeffe (To release Reid forward)

Disagree, I don't believe Keeffe belongs anywhere near the forward line (replacing Dawes)

I'd add pick 10 and Dwyer to that. Also there's a chance that we'll end up with some good quality amongst Witts, PK, Martin, Frost and Oxley.

Grundy - a while off Jolly, lets hope he can become that good
Adams - is more of a Luke Ball replacement, is nothing like Daisy
Seedsman - If he can reach the heights I see him becoming more of the Shaw / Johnson replacement

I think he means Keefe, has come in allowing Reid to go to the forward line

You could see he means Keefe, is a replacement for Reid in the backline

Hopefully Keefe can become an All Australian CHB

I know technically he wasn't part of the winning premiership team, but Leon Davis is one that has to be added to that list.

He made his greatest impact in 2011 off half back really and we still are struggling to replace that type of player, and was our best small forward in 2010.

Marley Williams has replaced Ben Johnson, I'll grant that but we've tried several different players in Leon's spot off half back and kicking in and we still haven't found the answer.

I think it comes form youth, with one of Broomhead, Ramsay, Oxley or one of this year's 2 top 10 draftees being given that role for the future.

Leon for so long was the best and only crumber we had, and while Krakouer filled the gap ok in 2011 when Leon went back we haven't really replaced Leon's crumbing ability either. I think Ben Kennedy may be the answer here, or even Dane Swan forward more.

Leon walked on water in 2011, quite possibly the best HB season of all time IMO, and he'd never even ventured into the Backline before that.

I really like our succession planning at the moment, in 2-3 years we will be covered

Grundy - Jolly
Adams - Ball
J Thomas - Swan
Kennedy/Broomhead - Didak
Marley - Shaw

Scharenberg? - Maxwell
Lennon/Salem - Carlton flog

Obviously some will be up against it to emulate the careers of the players they are replacing, but a couple look a big chance to also.
