Premiership?

Do Collingwood need a premiership next year to have a successful year?
I realise all team aim for a premiership and anything less is dissapointing, but not all teams play in 2 GF's in a row. If they don't win the premiership will it have been a wasted year?

Of course they do.

In 2002 they lost and put in a good effort.

In 2003 they didnt turn up to play. They need to do something next year to show they are not, as Lisa would say, BAFOONS!

How is life? My post above is not meant to be offending by the way.

...but I do think that the pies need to have a good year to show some face after last years GF loss (not that they lost, but that they lost badly).

... they did manage to finish 2nd for the year though which is somewhat better than my team!

Would still be nice to catch up for a drink sometime Jay.

Haha, fancy bumping into you here... We do need to catch up at some stage...

I didn't find your post offensive, I tend to agree. At this stage for Collingwood, anything short of a premiership is a failure, it's the only bit of improvement, or hurdle if you will, that we've got left. Losing two grand finals in a row is way too painful and only a premiership will help ease that.

Either way, I'm anticipating next year greatly.

You say that two years to lose is too painful. Quite right you are! I HATE to talk Essendon in a CFC forum..... but. Essendon only won 1 flag with the apparent "team of the century" which in itself was deemed and underachievment. Current Collingwood is probably not as good as EFC 2000 but they are bloody good. If the current CFC team doesnt win a flag it will be quite sad not only for CFC but for football in general. This team needs to win a GF! I would especially like to see Bucks with a medallion in his cabinet as he has been a great player and a good ambasitor not only for the CFC but for the game.

.......but let us win this year ok

Agreed that next year is going to be something special.
