i dont think we can have both of these players play against crows....

If Mick applies his 'horses for courses' approach...will either play?

"WE" "Fremantle"

Only one will play and epends on how the crows line up, just tippet no moran wakes and possibly teh other way round if moran plays as a permenant forward.

Presti's always been the better footballer if both are fit, but Adelaide is one team where Wakelin is probably a better option. They don't really have any stand-out forwards (as long as Bock stays down back), and Wakes provides better rebound.

i have issue with that statement. presti is probabaly the better glove but it is the only football quality he probably has. granted he has been and still showed he is capable of sticking to his man like glue better then majority of defenders but i wouldn't say he is a better footballer. Wakes is a highly competent defender although he is lacking in footspeed in his later years. he is calm and composed under pressure, makes good decisions and has good skills. he provides quality rebound and without heath shaw there and since jimmy clement retired he is the closest thing to a general we have down back...

both can play in the same team but i can't see it happening this week. wakes for mine pretty much because there is no real player that presti can stick to and wakes rebound will be invaluable

While it would be a shame to drop Presti, I think Wakelin would be the safer and better option.

My thoughts prety much exactly - except Presti is possibly the best glove in the league which arguably alone makes him a more valuable footy player overall (depending on the opposition), also a reliable defender in terms of handball, forcing turnovers and composure - just lacks flair and rebound. but yes it seems Wakes is the better choice this week if he is fully fit - big if but (no if's and but's about that)

Is Wakes really injured? There's talk about a groin injury but is it true?

If he's fit then I think he should play ahead of Presti.

I don't think it's quite as simple as that. It's all about getting the right matchups, as ultimately both play somewhat different roles as defenders. Both are incredibly valuable though, and I am strong in the belief that we should play both of them if the right matchups are available. I was really impressed with Presti's return game - didn't give his opponent an inch. As for Wakes, he's been impressive the entire year.

I'd prefer Presti. He was excellent last week first up.

Ideally I'd like both of them in the team so we can swing Brown and/or Maxwell forward if required, because our young forwards are struggling under the pressure and we could do with some other options. However not sure if we have the luxury of playing both Wakes and Presti.

He didn't look injured at training yesterday. I was surprised by how fast and agile he was. I think he should play.

I agree and when it come to finals having 2 players with that much experience is going to help heaps. I hope they both play.
