Think she's a couple of years older than 27. She was a year below me at Primary School and I'm 30 (and was a bottom age kid). Think that's one of the reasons we went with 2 younger players as our Marquee's.

Really hope we grab her and Steph Chiocci from Diamond Creek (mad Carlton supporter).

Carlton Football Club is delighted to announce it has secured the signature of Lauren Arnell, who will play for the Blues in the inaugural women’s competition in 2017.

The Club was granted permission from the AFL to pre-sign Arnell as a priority selection due to her existing relationship with Carlton.

Carlton’s AFL Women’s team is in a healthy state ahead of its first pre-season, according to priority pick Lauren Arnell.
“Our club has spent a huge amount of time on recruitment and the type of person we also want,” Arnell told RSN 927 on Friday morning.

“We’ve got a little bit of raw height, we’ve got some outside pace, we’ve got some key position players who will really do well. Most importantly we’ve got some excellent people who I know will stand up on and off field.
“We’re certainly very happy and excited with the group we’ve got at Carlton.”

Absolutely correct choice for captain. Class act on and off the field. Leads by example.
