So, here's the story:

My iTunes just deleted my entire library of music. I had it organized all nice into seperate playlists, but all that vanished... no files whatsoever left on my iTunes. I do still have the files in My Music folder, but the track order got lost, so now the tracks are in a funky order. Basically, they're useless... I'll have to delete 'em all and re-upload 'em.

This is the 3rd time it's happened to me,too. The first time it happened on my old computer (w/ Windows XP... I had owned it for over a year and a half, and it just happened one day out of the blue in December). I purchased a new computer with Vista in February, and since then, on the new one, have had this happen to me in both March, and April (a few hours ago).

Anyways, does anyone know what the hell is wrong with my computer? Is there any way to prevent this?

Not sure mate, happened to me early this year, and i just uploaded all the songs again.

I was so pissed off, too, because I lost all the songs I downloaded, too :thumbsd:

This happened to me to once last year. The bastard took every single song I had. But I haven't had problems like that again. Sorry, dont know how to help you.

Hasn't happened to me before, but have you tried seeing if the original library is still stored on your computer? Maybe iTunes just didn't want to recognise it anymore. Go to My Music\iTunes and import the library from there. A long shot though.

moral of the story: never trust anything made by apple

I only use iTunes to send music from my Comp to my iPod, I don't trust it with anything else. I play all my music in Winamp
