How far away is Laycock? :/

Fletcher > Lucas for the ruck.

Lucas cant ruck, and we cant play with Lloyd, Neagle and Lucas all up forward at the same time.

Been a lot of articles over the last week or two saying Laycock has reinjured himself, writing him off for the season.

Fletcher is a sensible choice for a second ruckman. The backline has been coping without him rather well and he's got the tank and mindset to be able to fill in the roll. Easily our best option.

Exactly. People are throwing up his name in hope. The absolute best case scenario we can hope for from Bock is that he can be another Mark Blake. People are hoping he can end up another Dean Cox.
knights said in today's herald sun that ryder cant ruck by him self, so bock might get a call up

Our options are Hooker, Fletcher, Bock and Lucas.

Hooker battled yesterday, to the point where the coaches put Lucas in instead.

Lucas created a contest, but at 192cm simply isn't big enough.

Bock is 83kg, and according to most is struggling at Bendigo.

That leaves Fletch who would create a contest, and would be very nice to have floating around 60m from goal.

Even if Fletch struggles in the actual ruck contests, I think his ability to do something with the ball around the ground would make him a worthwhile option.

When Ryder's rucking, he could drift back to be the loose man in defense, and to give Pears and Hooker/Daniher a bit of relief.

From what i've seen of him, I think his skills and confidence (or lack thereof) in his own skills is even more concerning than his body. If Ryder does indeed miss through suspension....:eek::eek:

We'd be better off with even McPhee in the ruck as at least he will be able to put in the second/third efforts and wouldn't be harmlessly brushed aside.

29 HO's isn't too bad at all. But how many contested disposals has he averaged per match so far this season? I would say bugger all. Just doesn't have the body at present to properly compete, not even in the VFL as he's up against the more experienced, crash & bash type ruckmen most weeks.

i'm sure bock will get some serious meat on him ... i mean, cmon, he's the younger brother of bock at adelaide who is a machine and monsters almost anyone for strength.

kepler bradley was as thin as this kid when he arrived ... he managed to get a fair amount of meat on him. even though he was a complete flop of a player.
