Devastated.
Poor kicking is poor football.
Too many passengers, this was a preliminary final.
Was given the opportunity to really take that next step, and just let it drop.
We could have won it and we should have won it, Brisbane were on the ropes.
There are no prizes for second best.
Alot of great work has been achieved, but there are still some individuals who let the team down time and time again. They must go. Maybe we can trade with the Green Bay Packers
There are no promises of future greatness. It's fine to say we may be a better team next year, but they're just words and you get no prizes for wishful thinking. What does count is results, and tonight, the result went begging.

Was I proud of their effort. Yes
Was I proud of their performance. No
We have lifted ourselves by the bootstraps with effort, diligence, determination.
Make no mistake. We lost last night thru a lack of ability and experience. Brisbane’s experience and ability overcame our effort. Recognition of this, is what will ensure that we just don’t go into “OZ’ mode and start trundling down the yellow brick road. Already this morning I’ve seen the press going into this Promised Land jargon, “its only a matter of time for Geelong”, “great future”, ”an era of success is on our doorstep”” etc.
Its all Crap. I read all that after the 89 Grand Final and I’ve still have never felt the feeling of winning the last match.
Geelong last night , had the champ on the rope but just didn’t have the killer punch. Is this new to us on the board. NO. We all are well aware of our lack of a quality forward but there is more to than just that. Our backline struggled under the type of onslaught the multipiprong , tall forwardline that both Port and Brisbane can bring to match day. Our on ballers played well but really did little to help score board pressure and yes our forwards lacked the quality of the three names on the Brisbane forwardline
Now, to trip down the Yellow brick road a bit myself. Last night we didn’t have Kelly or Sanderson, we didn’t have 2 players that this year were named Rising Stars and we didn’t have 2 or 3 players in the VFL that are still to make their debuts.
We have potential, we now must lift our skill so we don’t have to use so much effort. We learnt from the best in the required body size, now we must learn from them in that we must learn to win with ability and less from effort

Think I would i have preferred the game plan we had in round 13. That one involved winning.Maazo said:You stuck to the same game plan that frustrated the hell out us in round 12.
Maazo said:I'd just like to say how good your boys played the other night. You stuck to the same game plan that frustrated the hell out us in round 12. And all without Ablett and Steve Johnson having a huge impact (although I noticed that Johnson made 9 tackles which is a fair effort). Hope your boy Lingy wins the Brownlow tonight - I've got a quiet 10 on him to win.
Good luck in 2005.
