Ps2 or Xbox

Just decideding whether to change over on a trade in for an xbox. Good deal. What you all reckon???
Note: There is a deal to get a remote and 2 games(Halo is one) for 60$ extra.

Personally I have an Xbox and it is good enough for me but it is all up to personal opinion in the end.

The only reason why I feel the PS2 is better value is because you can pla PS1 games on it as well. With me not owning a PS1, I find these games good value & allow me to wait till the price of PS2 games drops a little.

Shane Warne Cricket 99 & AFL 99 are two examples of good games I was able to pick up at a reasonable price.

went to a hewlett packard product presentation night last week and they gave away a atari 2600 with a full range of games.

my choice a good computer system thats more powerfull than both the xbox and ps2.

Get an X-Box for Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, despite the fact that it's also out on PS2 doesn't matter much.

The only reason I could picture someone getting a PS2 over a xbox is because GTA3 isnt out on ps2.

Well i have an x-box and ps2, about the statement saying you can run ps1 games on the ps2 is all good, but why not just get your x-box chipped, and you can get a cd with about 4 games on average for around $20 and with the chip getting cheaper and cheaper ya cant go wrong.

IMO the x-box is better, but really it comes down to which console has the better game that you want!

I have both and to be honest about things id prefer the ps2 over the XboX anyday, the range of games comapring to the 2 is a joke the ps2 dominates it.
And for those who say the XboX is a more powerful machine you can barely tell them apart, Plus the ps2 control is far more basic and easier and lighter to handle.
In saying that the XboX is a quality machine just not the quality of ps2.

Playstation tricks the casual gamer. You go to a store to buy either and you see shelfs and shelfs of all these PS2 games and only 1 or 2 shelfs of XBox games so naturally the inexperieced thinks....oooh PS2 has tonnes more games lets go with that.

Only to later findout that 60 to 70% of PS2 games are crap. Whereas 60 to 70% of XBox titles are kickass games. Oh and if your an inexperienced gamer and cant decide...think Splinter Cell and HALO! Halo 2 is coming...its in the distance but its coming and the original Halo never gets old. Dont be fooled by Metal Gear Solid either. It's coming to XBox anyway but its not a scratch on Splinter Cell.

These threads always suck. Usually every single reply is just a person trying to validate which console they decided to spend $500 bucks on.

Every console has it's fair share of crap titles. But every console also offers something a bit different. Seriously, just look through the list of games for each of them, and decide which one has the most you want to play.

That's exactly right.

I prefer the PS2 because it has Pro Evolution 2 Soccer and Cricket 2002, two of my favourite games.
