PS3 Crashing

Hey guys,

Went to turn my PS3 on today for the first time in a few weeks. Anyway was loading up some FIFA and my ps3 made 3 beeps and then shut down.

I tried to clean the vents and stuff because I thought it was over heating, although it seems like a hardware issue. Has anyone had this problem?

There is a bit on Google, but no one says how to fix it...

Any advice would be great.

Called Sony and fears were met. Hardware problem. $315 to fix

Hopefully my extended warranty comes through and pays for it.

had mine for about a year now and no problems yet (touch wood)

Have you tried doing a full restore on it?

When you turn your PS3 on, hold the power button until you hear three beeps then follow the instructions to do a full restore has solved alot of problems my PS3 has given me.
