PS3 - HDMI cable

Need a bit of help setting up my Playstation 3 to be high definition.

TV: Philips - 32TA2800 http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=51931

I have the HDMI cable, that plugs into the back of the Playstation 3, no problems. However the TV is a peice of shit and does not have a HDMI output.
My set top box does.

I really have no idea with this kind of stuff, and would like to know what my options are ? (buy a new TV)

Any assistance would be great

I think it can work, at my workplace we have a DVD with HDMI out linked to a screen via a HDMI to DVI and the audio through a pair of speakers with red & white cable.

Yeah, I believe (some techie correct me if I'm wrong) that DVI is HDMI without the audio. So you would need to output the audio some where else (unless your TV has audio in as well)

buying a tv is a must dude. you lose so much enjoyment when not playing on a HDTV.

The TV is HD.

However it doesnt have a HDMI output.

Will have to go HDMI -> DVI

Other option could be to buy an amplifier, plug the PS3 in to the Amp and out from Amp to TV via component
