I was just wondering if i bought a ps3 from Japan (play-asia)

Would it work in Australia ? Or would their be different cables etc ?

Would the ps3 be in english or?

If you went online would it just be japanese servers or?

Hopefully someone has bought one from their and can help me out.

You may need to buy a tranformer to connect it to our power points, should cost you under 10 dollars from dick smith.

Keep in mind, if you a buy a PS3 from Japan, whilst the games are region free (you can play any game imported from any where), the blu-ray movies are not. You would have to import movies from the region you got your PS3 from.

As for the servers, my understanding is that your location and server is linked to the Playstation Network I.D that you create for online play. If you are using an Aus account, you will more than likely be on an Aus server.

Hope that helps.

aww ok just one other question.

Whats the deal with the wireless controller does it require a charger that you need to buy seperately as an accessory.

Or does it come in the box ?

If you buy the controller with the PS3 it will come with a USB cable, if not I don't think it comes with one, didn't with mine, luckily the USB Cables are cheap and widely available.

yeah the new Dual Shock 3's don't come with one. Should get one at dse for $5-10.

No need for a transformer, any standard power cable works fine. A pc one or even one from a kettle is perfect. The PS3 is in english and you can go online wherever you want, make however many accounts you want. Games are region free, DVDs are locked to region 2 and Blu-ray for a PS3 from Japan is Region A, so that's America/Japan/Canada. You get a much better range and price on Blu-rays from the US compared to here. I got mine from yesasia over a year ago now, would definitely recommend buying one from Japan over a local one, much cheaper and you're in a better region for Blu-ray if that interests you.
