First let me have a whine. There is a known glitch in Brutal Legend that crashes the save files. It seems that it has happened to stacks of player with this game.

As people may imagine it is mighty annoying if you are into platinum whoring and the bloody thing crashes after you have put in 30 or 40 hours and it all goes up in smoke, which has happened to me and quite few others recently. The makers of the game may or may not fix tnhids in the future.

Onto the question: i have a 4 gig usb flsh drive and I want to be able to regularly save my progress on Brutal Legend so if the thing crashes again I can just reload the PS3 hard drive with the game saved on my memory stick.

Can someone please walk me through the entire process. It would be greatly appreciated.

Assume utter noobishness so no detail will be too much. For example, do I have to format the flash drive using my computer first? Once I've saved the folder how do I reload back in the future?

It's actually a really simple process. No formatting needed for a regular USB.

Just plug the USB in, go to the "Saved Data Utility" icon, hit triangle on Brutal Legend's saved data and then go to copy. Then if you want it back on, go up to your USB which will be at the top of all the saved data and hit X to go into the USB, then Triangle and copy and it will give you the option to overwrite the current saved data of that game.

Really, really easy stuff.
