Is there a chance we could lure a big name into the PSD. We have a bit of cash free after the trade today.

So far the options are slim, and the only players i could see us taking would be Russell Robertson or Cleve Hughes.

Could we even lure Daniel Bradshaw down. While on paper the big 3 talls looks nice, even Bradshaw will realise he will find it hard to keep his spot in there. Apparently he was happy too come to Carlton. Maybe if we offered him a bit of $$$ and a 2 year deal, he would come down?

Blues will win a flag if they get a defender. if waite goes forward the defence will be weak and if he stays back the forward will be weak. blues dont have a forward who can kick 60+ goals let alone 80+.

i call maguire in the PSD

will be interesting, but one's things for sure, our off season of player movement recruiting is far from finished, Robbo may well be worth a go, but at 30, theres some doubts, same with braddy, will have to wait and see, a while til the draft and the psd

He's been offered a 1 year deal from St.Kilda

No one wants a guy who hasn't played for 2 years

No way known we will even consider this guy

Can you pick up an uncontracted player in the national draft before the PSD? For instance...Pies picking up Ball with their 5th round pick.

If they nominate for the National Draft then yes.

My vote is for Robbo. Still has something to add for a few more seasons.

don't know that there's much on offer. looking at afl.com, thought the delisted bulldogs might get some interest but looking further none of them played any seniors this year.
(skipper / wight / oshea ). i always thought skipper was handy though not great. could do worse if we're looking for someone to plonk in the goal-square.

pettifer might have been ok before he did his knee, but hughes would be the better option.

From now until psd anything can happen. It will be hard as our pick is a late one. We now have Henderson, hopefully a KPF with pick 12 and if we score in PSD it would be icing on the cake.

Rumuor is we'll somehow get Bradshaw if he quits the Lions. Don't see how it'll happen tho considering our position in the order, would have to put a pretty big price on his head one would think.

maybe that or he'll say "it's either Carlton or I retire"...think that's been done in the past

I would like to think that leaving Waite in defence as our floating defender - run off attacker is our best option. Carlos has proven himself as a more than capable CHF and we might want to think about Matty in the FF position which means that Hendo can play out of the pocket for the next couple of years getting game time and building up.

If Bradshaw did pull the pin on the lions, then I am hoping that we would consider making a play for him in the PSD and considering that he has played down back as well, it could be a damned good fit for us... but he would be better utilised forward.

I think that we have everything and everyone in place now and we have a reasonable amount of depth to be playing with so getting a young KPF in the national draft and an experienced defender (if there are any around in the PSD) would be a good mix up.

I thought that Bradshaw had a year on his contract to go and therefore couldnt nominate for the PSD???

He could retire and we do an Essendon with Mal Michael if uncontracted?

For any player for us to pick up in the PSD will need to be passed by 9 clubs before we can have a crack at him though.

Yep and spend the first 6 weeks or so sitting in the stands. You cannot refuse to go to a club that is willing to match the price you put on yourself. If you do it is manipulation of the drafting system and punished by suspension and fine to the club. Just ask Diesel.

Nobody really stands out, and given that we are a fair way down the pecking order for the PSD, I doubt that we'd land anybody of real quality.

Of the players that are available, i'd be having a very close look at Russell Robertson. He'd be ultra keen, give you 110%, and has already expressed a desire to go around next year.

Even if we only got him for 12 months, it would help out our other young forward, and take the pressure off them a little whilst they continue to develop.

If Cleve Hughes is floating around surely he warrants a one-year punt. He gives us a leading forward option and puts pressure on players like Cloke and Fisher to step up and become a regular forward. He showed he can kick a bag before which is more than Fish or Cloke can say. Robertson is also an option but Hughes is youngerand could possibly turn into a very good player if treated right. This would also be something to rub into the face of Richmond supporters.

in the psd we have pick 10 im pretty sure

national draft we have pick 12 and then we go down to about 36
