I really hope we pick up Toovey, i was hoping like anything that we'd get him in the draft just past. Couldnt believe he didnt get taken. Is a very good negator either midfield or defense, keeps the opposition very honest, rarely beaten, and gets quite a bit of the ball himself. He is also good height and athletic. Played league this year and stepped up now problems. I think a player like him would suit our needs very well and is best available. Please Collingwood pick up Campo!

we got lucy so i dont think we'd gamble on another key backman, id think rischbieth or ryan jackson if we dont get campo, just because campo played at carlton in a very unsucesfull side doesnt mean he isnt good enough. He took one of the best taggers and still averaged 20 disposals, if he plays for us it will open the door for stanton monfries or dyson. The best tagger will ultimately be given to hird. Campo can kick a goal to.

oh kissstephanie, your midfield looks so potent and dangerous with that young and upcoming brigade of talent filling the void in 2005.

Without Scott burns and Nathan Buckley your a bunch of back pocket players in the midfield. If buckley plays the whole season on the flank i will personally buy your membership the following year.

yes you made two grand finals in a row and no, not much has changed since then except you have finished out of the finals the last 2 years with the same list. Its a silly comment i mean brisbane won 3 premierships in a row with a similar list to this year yet they finished out of the finals as well, will they play in the granny next year, what about port adelaide.

Toovey is more a hbf, negating midfielder who can rack it up himself. He is quite versatile. In my opinion he would be a very small gamble rather than a large one - anyone who you draft these days is a gamble one way or another. He could be a very good solid player for us for many years and i dont think we have a great tagger at the moment.

Personally I think Toovey is worth the risk over Campo. I would have thought Stanton, Dyson, Winda, Lovett if he plays midfield would play the receiving role that Campo plays. Perhaps he may even hinder someones development.

heff should be ok, and campo will be very handy for a few years whilst our young blokes develope.

i don't want to look ahead too much, but apparently next year is a super draft year, and it might be handy to get some good picks, althought i have a feeling we might be in the top 8 this year.

well considering he wasnt picked up with 70 plus selections in this years draft there would have to be some queries about him, with campo you know what u are getting, considering we are one of the younger sides in the comp I think we need some leadership and experience.

We have a very good tagger in Peverill and we'll get another in heffernan, we also have slattery. I dont want to many taggers i want an offensive team that puts oressure on the opposition like west coast do. We can try getting toovey or rischbieth in the rookie draft.

Because its Hirs last season i really think that essendon are having one last ditch effort for him, they need campo to complement that. Having campo will only help the stanton, dysons, lovetts and monfries (not sure about winderlich), its called the domino effect. The best opposing midfielder goes to Hird, 2nd and 3rd best to the Johnsons, 4th to campo, 5th to rioli, 6th to stanton, 7th to monfries etc etc. This will allow stanton and monfries to get some easier possessions and build their confidence. The opposition will then try and counter that by changing campos midfield tag with stantons, allowing campo to do some damage.

Not the domino EFFECT!!!

What, not where one falls down after the other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!! we're doomed!!!!!!!!!!1111111

But seriously, Campo will be good, and if the Herald sun is anything to go by, he looked like he was enjoying himself with one Scott Lucas.

You can't make a large financial and player decision on the basis that it is Hird's last year. Can You?

The essendon football club looks after its best of players, hird is one of them. Sheedy would always look for a motivational edge over other teams, so why not? Providing it doesn't kill the team in the future, which it wont

If we miss Campo with our first pick, we'll take Heff.

And then I wouldn't be suprised if we re-draft Thomas with our second. He is still training with us.

Do u think Cupido would be a chance at all? I know a lot of u arent keen on him but would he be any chance? Id be surprised if he wasnt drafted by somebody. When is the PSD anyway?

no i dont want cupes back at essendon, when he arrived i raved to my mates about him and all that ravfing proved very fruitful in his first year but since then he had plenty of chances and did nothing, because he became arrogant. Even a spray from sheedy in the nedia could not correct him, hugely talented but not commited enough, and Lloyd said that he wanted to lead a far more commited team like sydney.

If collingwood was going to draft the most talented then cupido would be there man, if they wanted the most talented slash commited them campo would be there man, but if cupido came good they would get 8 years out of him whereas they would only get 2 years out of campo.

I still think Guerra should be in collingwoods radar.

Think we will be pretty safe with getting Campo and Heff.. And like somebody said earlier, maybe even redrafting Thomas.. I agree with the Norman thing too.. Might actually be worth the punt.. Seems to have alot of talent... If he can be controlled could be a good pick up.
Campo although I have never liked him at all, could be a real key for us though... Just a bit of composure and class to teach the kids in the midfield, im excited by the prospect...

If we dont get campo yeah we should try a youngster in ryan jackson, his work ethic is unquestioned and he can kick goals? but i think we will get campo, collingwood is just playing mind games, like when they were certainties to take ellis? If collingwood took campo and he failed like morrison and a few others have in recent trading malthouse and co. would get the sack, i dont think he will take that chance.

didnt he state they earlier in the year they would only take youngsters.

I agree, if we wanted Campo he would be training at Lexus by now. Just trying to give Dons the ********s or using it as a decoy. Personally I believe they will take a youngster who missed, most likely Toovey who is a defender and what we need. And yes, Malthouse did say they were only interested in youngsters.

No he wouldn't.
Campo doesn't have a choice where he gets drafted to, but he does have a choice on where he trains. He wants to come to Essendon so regardless of Collingwood's plans, he was always going to train at Windy Hill.

If Collingwood told Campo we are going to draft you then he would DEFINATELY be training there. I think Collingwood will not draft him but are trying to make Essendon anxious because they feel aggrieved regarding Richard Cole. I hope I am wrong and Collingwood do take him though.:)

Not if he wanted to play at Essendon. Regardless of what happens in the draft and what club says, a player choosing to train at a club shows intent. If Campo didn't want to go to Collingwood he wouldn't train there, even if invited in an effort to steer them away.

It has nothing to do with Cole, and everything with Collingwood deciding whether or not to take the best experienced player in the draft or the best kid.

Campo is a definite !!! And maybe given No.15.
Heff maybe given 26 back, with Laycock to wear No.27 (Ruckman Number) following Alessio & Allan.
