Anybody ever had one? I have one in both eyes, am getting the one in my left eye removed on the 11th of next month. Can anybody give me some ideas on what to expect from the operation and more importantly after it like the after effects of it.

P.S - I am aware of the concern that the date of the operation is September 11

I have them, never had a problem with them after 12 so they have remained
Used to give me terrible bloodshot eyes, but with good sunnies I have avoided that for years

One thing that scared me after I found out I had them was someone telling me that the procedure to fix them was to numb one eye, then they stick a big-ass needle in it when numb, which you can watch with the other eye, sounds really cool!

A month ago I got metal fragments picked out of my eyes. They used cocaine based drops that deaden the eyes but not my vision why they picked away, Then the Dr dude got a pencil grinder and had to grind out some of the rust. Funny thing was that when they used the needle to pick out the metal I couldn't feel a thing but every pick moved my eye a bit. Weird sensation. With the grinder I could hear the motor slow when it made contact with my eye. 3 return visits were needed to try clear the rust which made going out in the sun painful for a day or so after each visit.

Well I got it done on Monday and this is pretty much the first time i've been out of bed, the pain isn't that bad {much worse in the mornings} The eyes are pretty red, just avoid sunlight or wear polaroid shades and you won't notice it as much well i'm back to bed now night night
