Punk Is Crap

i dont understand how anyone can enjoy listening to punk music. its all repeptive crap, and all songs sound the same, and the singer most of the time is yelling. i think people who can only play simple things on guitar (eg. punk) like them, so they can play there music, i dont see any other reason to like them..this is my opinion, and i understand if i have insulted many people, because a few of my frinds are punk fans, and i burn the s**t out of them for fun, and also cos i think it sucks.

the only punk music i like is living end, and i dont know if they come under the 'punk' category.

so out of intrest who agrees, im not havn a go at anyone btw.

pink floyd
ac/dc
jimi hendrix
nirvana
eric clapton
steve ray vaughn
just naming my best few....plenty more though

and as u can see, all music from the above bands are original, and songs dont sound alike(except im not a fan of rhcp new stuff).
most of it is challenging on guitar and not simple chords(excepy nirvana, thats basic stuff, but still original)

btw, i agree with you to an extent about punk music being repetitive, but any music is repetitive in comparrison to RHCP so its a rough call

Frenzal rhomb are punk. Grinspoon are not. And what is wrong with frenzal anyway, they make good music and if you cant see that then i feel sorry for you.

People have different music tastes, but there is no point in bagging a genre you dont like. You shouldnt make rash statements like "punk is crap", I could go on for hours about how bad rap is, but i wont.

By the way i also like RHCP. And learn to spell!

everyone has different tastes in music, and everyone hates different kinda music....im not tryin to bag anyone for the music they listen to, just that i wanted to see peoples reaction to me saying punk is crap.....and so far, a lot of people do like punk...and thats good for u guys who do...not sayin theres anything wrong with it(besides the fact i dont like it)...and by the way, as i sed before, i like the rhcp earlier stuff, not there new repetive crap, they are becoming 'poppy'.

Regardless of your preferences, i find it rather ironic in terms of the spirit of this thread that those early RHCP albums very much embraced the whole punk rock ethos.
