basically watching it unfold day in day out, on the way to work on the train. Its suprising how one day i thought when are they going to start ripping out the turf and before you know it, the ground is completely ****ed and work is progressing at warp speed. Wet conditions surely help with ripping and digging. Just hope the contractor is on the job and doesnt pull any swifties with the drainage system.

on Saturday arvo and also on Tuesday the field was absolutely covered in birds (no not women, actual birds)

It'll be great when it's done and ready to go. The cherry on top to finish the punt rd transformation, or does anyone know of anything else being done ? I did hear I think it was a museum is also being built or something to contain club history, but I don't think I heard that it was completed. Anyone else know anything about that ??

Museum will be in the jack dyer stand - at the back where the old gym was.

I'm told it is exactly the size and shape of etihad. A great idea given our history at that ground.

In my 32 years I can't remember feeling this excited about what is to come. Having been overseas for every final we have played in since I was old enough to know, I can't wait to see the well orchestrated long-term plan the club has adopted take effect as one by one the pieces fall into place.

IMO to undertake a complete overhaul of the club during the time when the expansion clubs have had the privelege to pick the eyes out of the drafts, for us to show real signs of improvement/change is a terrific accomplishment in itself. When it manifests into prolonged success on field, we will have more reason to celebrate than just about any other club's supporters.

Thoroughly enjoying what is happening at Richmond, and savouring every minute of it.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Wouldn't think we will be playing too many games a year at Etihad though?

True enough, but if it helps for the 5 or 6 games we do play there, given that the players seem comfortable on the G, then I'm all for it. My worst memories of RFC games are almost exclusively at Etihad.

Must add though that it was my old man who told me that Punt rd would be exactly the same. He used to be involved at the club, but TBH he sometimes gets these things wrong. Happy to be corrected by someone in the know if necessary.

I think the size is somewhere in between MCG size and Etihad size. Didn't we only play 2 games this year at Etihad?
