Guys, I'm noticing a lot of difference in the way that people write in bets. Just to clarify I thought we should put everything in writing in an easy to see place.

+11 means the team has an 11 point handicap. So they start the game in front 11-0 for the bet. If you want to say they will win by more than 11 points you should be using 11+.

Feel free to ask questions / post shit that you notice others getting wrong on a consistent basis.

Well you are using it incorrectly and you must have seen it if you use www.sportingbet.com.au It is available for every game... well I guess it says 10.5+ which again is what you should use. If you went up to the bookies and said +11 on Lakers today they would offer you about $1.05

EDIT. and checking from said site shows

Semi confusing, i play golf and have a 12 handicap, shoot 100 and take the handicap off, leaving me with net 88.

If I read Atlanta +10, I add +10 to Atlantas score? correct?

Yes. A +10.5 normally handicap means they get a 10.5 head start.

Correct. In golf lowest score wins, in bball highest score wins. So the handicap is still doing the same thing, helping you get to the best score.
