Loved the VFA, I was a Willy member during most of the 80’s.
Played against Port Colts when I was playing in the old Footscray District FL, won’t say which clubs.

They were tough boys during my junior days - FDFL as a kid and for one year in my late teens. Definitely wore a few bruises from those games.

I still like the old rumour from the Williamstown VFA days in the early 80s - the rivalry with Port was so fierce that one late one night, fans moved the two cannons on the Williamstown foreshore so that instead of pointing out into the bay they pointed directly at Port Melbourne.

The local council just went with it and they stay pointed at Port Melbourne today.
