I'd go.

Outs- Darcy Gardiner, Kai Lohmann(if), James Tunstill.

Ins- Jack Payne, Will McLachlan, Sam Marshall.

Marshall in as he is an elite runner, Suns are a very hard running side.

Dunkley to keep tabs on Rowell.

Suns tall up front, King, Read, Walter.... Payne > Read, Andrews > King, Lester > Walter ???

Last encounter Lions 93 Suns 65 Round 20 at Carrara.
Below our likely changes since that away win.
I did not look at the possible Suns changes

Played In R20 Of 2024Likely Replacement Did Not Play R 20
Prior 19 disposals 10 marksPayne
Daniher 10 disposals 6 marks 2 goals 2 behinds & 2 H/ODay
Starcevich 15 disposals 8 marksAnswerth
Henry Smith 7 disposals 1 mark & 2 H/OLevi Ashcroft
Brain (sub off) 11 disposals 1 markAndrews
McKenna (Sub) 4 disposals 2 marksTunstill (or Marshall) Sub

Gold Coast gunning for only their second win against us without Michael Rischitelli in the side

We didn’t have Payne or Andrews in that game?🤯

Edit: Of course, I am remembering now, that was the game that Hippy played back on King.

My current thinking - the memory of this game this time last year will still kick in for both teams if we get behind.

We will rise, they will get nervous and we will get this done.

I'll change my mind at least once a day and twice on Sunday. So we'll still win.

The Suns defence have had the least amount of points scored against them in the competition.
So important we dominate in the mid filed to give our guys up forward the best chance to post a winning score.

might be something to do with the fact they have played one fewer game.

Though still fewer points per game conceded than Lions. They have scored more points, despite the deferred game

yer..even if we score over 100pts in the game their points against is still better than ours.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that our mid's will once again determine how well we perform on Sunday night.

Walter seems extremely well versed in extracting unearned free kicks from gullible umpires for such a young bloke.

Dizzy stiff

Shame on them not getting up but no point risking either of them

McLachlan should be straight in for Kai. Simple straight change.

Fort would probably be the best in for Morris, although wouldn't surprise if Gardiner played forward. Gallop less likely.

Also this highlights exactly why we have Day on the list. Senior body is extremely important in not having rely on a second year forward too much

Changes
Payne (if recovered from illness) in for Gardiner.
Hopefully no other players caught whatever he had. They were cautious by sending Payne straight back to Brisbane.
I think Gardiner needs more full games under his belt so don't think they make him Sub. Emerg again most likely.
Sub: Tunstill or Marshall.
They may feel Tunstill needs a full game but just 2 subs in a row should be fine.
Devs turn for sub.
