Adelaide will take on Collingwood in a qualifying final at Adelaide Oval in a Thursday night blockbuster.

The AFL released the fixture for week one of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals series, slating the Crows to host the Magpies at Adelaide Oval on Thursday, September 4, with the first bounce at 7.10pm.

Adelaide earned the right to a home qualifying final and a double chance after finishing the minor round top-of-the-ladder with an 18-5 win/loss record.

Collingwood’s Round 24 win against Melbourne, coupled with Gold Coast’s loss to Port Adelaide, helped the Magpies secure a fourth-place finish.

Tickets to the Crows' qualifying final will go on sale on Thursday, August 28, with timings to be confirmed later today.

For the most up-to-date information regarding Adelaide's 2025 Toyota AFL Finals Series, keep an eye on the Club’s finals hub here.

All matches in week one of the 2025 Toyota AFL Finals series will be broadcast live nationally on the Seven Network, Fox Footy and streamed live on Kayo.

ok good - basically confirming we have 7 and 8 day breaks between games at a minimum from here

Collingwood = never beaten them in a final. They love Adelaide oval and were unlucky to lose in R23.
Thursday night = we don't have the greatest record.

But bring it on, the sky is the limit and who knows how far we can go. Even if we lose I am sure we will still be a chance to recover and make it to the GF although it will be harder. But if we win it, amazing things could happen.

Lose and I assume the semi is a Friday Night (September 12) 8 day break, and win I assume the preliminary final is a Friday Night (September 19) 15 day break.

Lose the QF and win the SF and the away preliminary final will be on the Saturday sunset slot (2x 8 day breaks) either at the MCG against Geelong or Gabba against the Lions. Not easy games, but winnable if everything goes right.

Really looking forward to this game. I think we beat the Pies handily. Have to overcome the media narrative about the brave injured magpies, and possibly umpiring, but I am confident we win this one.

Disagree. I think it will be another close hard fought battle. But I really hope we do win.

We need to start better and certainly cannot afford a 5 goal deficit at quarter time.

We have a better Thursday record (53% win rate) vs Everything overall (52%)

Pretty much the worst time for me, so surprising the afl made the call for Thursday night.
Best for me

Saturday Afternoon - Can't do
Friday Night - Would've had to have cancelled planned

It's just whether I had 2 hours from work to the game or 2 hours from umpiring to the game.
Work easier.
