Re: Queenland Flood Relief Game

First thing I spotted: East is made up of four states (not counting ACT for expediency), West made up of three (counting NT). Four states represented by just 3 colours, but in the west, three states represented in 4 colours. This isn't a very good balance.

Also - VIC and WA above the number, seems a bit pointless if the game's benefiting Queensland. UNLESS, the idea is to have the player's state of origin shown there (so instead of VIC it could have TAS, NSW, ACT, QLD).

The East Colours are:
Maroon -QLD
Light Blue - NSW
Navy - VIC
Green- TAS

Yes the States above the number are for the players State of Origin

You might want to re-work the jumper there. Now, I can see it, but last night to my tired eyes, the green was near invisible. Either switch the colour order, or use a brighter apple or lime green.

Re: Queenland Flood Relief Game

Here is my idea:

The two teams are:
Melbourne City United

SES Australia Dream Team
sesdreamteamfloodrelief.png

The Melbourne City United team is made up of players from the 9 Melbourne clubs (Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne, Richmond, St Kilda & Western Bulldogs).

The SES Dream Team is made up of players from the 9 non-Melbourne clubs (Adelaide, Brisbane, Fremantle, Geelong, Gold Coast, GWS, Port Adelaide, Sydney and West Coast).

Both jumpers have one black cuff to honour the memory of all who died in the floods. The 16 on the jumper is also to honour the 16 people who are comfirmed dead at the time of this post.

The SES Dream Team features the colours of Maroon, for Queensland, for obvious reasons, and Orange for the State Emergency Service-men and -women who put their lives on the line to rescue and aid the people effected by the floods.

75% of player and umpire match fees, the guernseys of both teams (signed), the match balls, 50% of the entry fee to the Gold Coast Stadium and all money from collection tins around the ground will be donated to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal.

The game will be played in Queensland at the new Gold Coast Stadium.

The game would also be a good way for young GWS recruits to mix & try their hand with & against more experienced AFL opponents

Thoughts?

I didn't notice it either until he mentioned it.

Sorry to be a buzzkill but the Gold Coast Stadium won't be ready by the time of the match. Besides thta, terrific concept :thumbsu:

Nothing wrong with being pedantic :p and I know that they wont play a game there till May, but I know a brickie who worked on the stadium and he said it's going way ahead of schedule apparently. I just thought it'd be a good way to promote the renovated stadium :thumbsu:
