Queensland batsmen Armageddon seems to have been granted his wish, a deal with the sharks being agreed to last night, just waiting on the confirmation from Eddiesmith.

Whilst promising alot in the pre season, Arma simply failed to deliver when it mattered most. His test season to date consists of 538 runs at a poultry average of 38.4, making 4 50's and a high score of 85. His one day stats however, were marginally better, averaging 44.6 with 2 50's.

He announced his intent to leave a few days ago, and Queenslander captain EP has this to say

Well. Arma approached me a few days ago saying he wanted out, i gave him my word that i'd get him to where he wanted to go, he gave the club his all and deserved it. His heart simply wasn't in it anymore.
We made a stand just before the season with the Sidey and Greg Miller debacle, we simply don't want players here who don't want to play for us. And whilst they've had pretty good seasons to date, i have no regrets.

One thing i'm not sure about though, is why the Sharks actually want him, i mean, take a look at there list, they've got alot of gun bats, but well, it's there choice, and i couldn't be happier with who we got for him.

If the deal goes through, the Canetoads receive JohnnyHoward, the sharks spin bowler, whom currently holds the best test bowling average this season, taking 25 wickets @ 21.8 in just 5 test matches, but was receiving limited game time due to competing with Sharks Co-Captain, LSS.
Whilst Johnny holds the much superior average, he simply wasn't being played, and wanted out. The Queenslanders have welcomed him with open arms.

When asked about covering Arma's loss, EP had this to say.

"Whilst he'll certainly be a loss, we should be able to cover him easily. I mean, he was dropping down the order anyway, and wasn't in very good form.
Recent recruit VonDouche has been tearing it up, and i couldn't be happier with him. We've still got a pretty strong batting lineup, but will be looking to strengthen it a bit more. So if any players are interested, drop me a line"

(sorry i rambled on... had no sleep last night and i didn't really have a lot of time)

Adding more and more strength to our batting line-up. Armageddon has that capacity to be the best batter in the league. Unfortunately, Brendon Fevola has the capacity to win the coleman medal every year. Lets see how he goes in the baggy red.

Armageddon, from one ex Queenslander to another, welcome to the Sharks. Our batting line-up is looking stronger and stronger by the week!

Armageddon - the most overrated cricketer since Ricketts.

Bye Arma - the shackles are off now and it's no holds barred.
First of all, thanks for........nothing.

two 50's in tests is pathetic!! I actually thought you'd be any good from the pre-season form but was willing to give you a chance but you just let the Queenslanders down time and time again even after being surrounded by century makers Quicksilva and Smokin Joe.

You were the batter who failed constantly and we had to carry your load.

In the ODI I carried you throughout, even after your numerous collapses I had to steady the ship time and time again along with cozmo and others. Poor form.

Dunno why the Sharks wanted him with their batting line-up but happy with the return, thanks. This might be the tonic for march to the finals in both forms ;)

Not sure about Ricketss but yeah Arma is overrated.

Still holding onto that pre-season centuries.

He deserves to be rated because he has shown what he can do...unfortunately that was in the pre season but the point is he can do it. However at the Sharks he has plenty of batters ahead of him so he has to show what he is capable of consistently or face the axe. He and we have a golden opportunity out of this trade, now it's up to him to decide his fate

Ricketts' Stats are just like Arma's ;)

Well I expected all the criticism and I throughly deserve it. From the moment I walked in the Queensland door Rave Slave wanted me to go KCC and that's the first time I got the giddy thrill of treachery. Then the Sharks and then a whole range of clubs.

Hu$$ mate, firstly my ODI average was the 2nd best in the team and I made as many half tons as you, so then your stats must be as pathetic eh? My test stats were average but I'll admit that. I was average after promising plenty. I won't speculate on my move too much but all I'll say is, it is going to be very tough. BRG, Kapow and Ray Nolan are a very dangerous trio and they are also 3 of the top 4 while the 4th is on the rise by the name of spell_check. Position number 5 has m name on it at the minute so I'll try and secure that first.

Queensland, thanks...... for everything. Securing me and giving me a chance, being top blokes and supporting me when I got banned and not giving me the flick then. I accept all your criticisms and wish you all the luck and hope to play you in the finals. Good luck Johnny, you've got all the tools to support the load Red has to carry as the number 1 spinner.

Lastly, I would like to single out EP, fantastic bloke and although he was disappointed I was leaving he let me go but he is about the best captain in the league. He is loyal to his players and will stick up for them through thick and thin. Cheers for everything mate!

Can't wait to play you guys later, peace out :thumbsu:

Oh and P.S Cassius, I rank you as the most overated player in the comp ;)

Err yeah, except one slight problem. I am a keeper, not a pure bat ;)

Geez the Sharks leadership group seem to have undervalued their player in this trade, sensational piece of business for Queensland picking up the leading averaging bowler in the comp for a stuttering middle order bat.

Armageddon has a lot of potential, preseason showed that plus he's a good high profile player for any side, that's why the Allies had a crack at him when we thought he was delsited, but a bowler who takes 5 wickets a test at 21 is priceless.

The sharks are one of the leading batting units but can't bowl people out so go figure on this trade, if JonnyHoward is being kept out of the side because they can't drop one of the leadership group then that's no good.

Sharks showing their naivety.

Queensland early leaders of the trading period.

I think it's confirmed now, we have the best batting line up in the competition, but we still have some quality bowling - dyertribe in particular is in fine from.

Dyertribe gets some wickets but is un-economical

LSS has potential but hasn't had his breakthrough yet...I'm not sure who else you guys have.

You do have ONE of the better batting line ups in the league though

Its always a sad day for a club when a player wants out, Arma will be missed around the place, and we wish him luck at his new club, but like others we certainly dont want blokes playing for us who dont want to be.
It is interesting that the Sharks have picked up another batsmen when they already have such a strong batting lineup, while we have picked up a bowler, when it has been our bowling that has been very good, but our batting lacking.
But i guess you cant turn down quality players, and it also means that blokes like myslef really need to step up with the bat.
