Question about PAL format

I'm interested in a PS2 game on eBay for my brother, it's PAL but in brackets it says "UK Standard". Does that mean it wouldn't work on an Australian PS3?

I'm about 90% sure it would work. I'm fairly sure that PAL is PAL, it doesn't matter where it's from. Thats probably the reason why games are released at the same time in Europe and Australia.

Make sure his PS3 is one of the few models with backwards compatailbity or it will be no use anyway.

from my experience with using after effects, PAL format shouldn't change...you should be safe


I think the "UK standard" is so people using NTSC or to a lesser extent SECAM don't purchase it

North America = NSTC
UK = PAL
Australia = PAL

you should be fine, PAL is PAL and that is the format we use over here.
