This is to those people who have been doing DT for a couple of years now, this is my first year doing DT, the only thing i dont understand, as i have not seen it, is player value increases. Obviously if a player plays well, his price will go up. But how does it generally work?

Ill use Scott Lucas, and Jarred Brennan for example as im not thinking about getting eitherof them, Lucas started off about 380 grand, But has been getting 100's, so if he does that this week will his price simply rise to 400 grand? Or will it rise by say 60 grand ect. will players prices go much beyong 400, and in Lucas's case if he keeps averaging 100's will his price keep going up, or will that simply keep his price tag at 400 grand?

Example 2, Jarred Brennan, around 250 grand by memory, if he averages over 100 this week, will his price go up to close to 400 grand, or does it work some other way, will his price go up a little and then keep increasing if
he keeps scoring say over 100 points?

Basically ive never seen any players price increase so im just wondering what will generally happen, say by using either these 2 as an example or 2 others. How much can a players price go up??

My last question is this, after the prices have changed and it goes off week by week performance, how much will it change then? Say Cross costs 410 grand, he has a game and only averages 10, what will his price be the following week?

I know this is a long post, but i just want advice from the guys that have been doing it for a couple of years to give advice on what generaaly happensso i am better equipped with knowledge to make any trades, cheers to anyway who can help.

p.s. Ive noticed people using formulas to calculate price changes, im not really interested in that, to me it seems a bit sceptical and any formulas that might have worked last wont neccesarily work this year.

You just answered you questions, no-one knows because more than likely the secret number in the formula will be changed this year.

Brennan will jump up, but no where near 400k and will have smaller increases as long as he scores reasonable, Lucas should increase slightly if he keeps the form up, but only for 2-3weeks then level out.

The "secret number" or what I would call the dollar to point ratio is determined by which players play and how many points they score in the relevant rounds. For dream team after round 2 the figure is 3765 and Supercoach 4851. These numbers will change again after round 3 (when players values will start changing) and each subsequent round but using them (in conjunction with the formulae mentioned in other threads) will give you a breakeven figure accurate to within a few points.

I only use the price fluctuation formula to determine whether a players price has peaked or bottomed out; and even then its only a guideline because nobody knows what a player will score in future games.

Some people seem obsessed with how much player x will increase next week if he scores y points this week. Interesting to know but with only 20 trades to play with for the whole season I'm more concerned with how many points a player is going to earn me in the long run. Brennan could score 0 this week and he will still go up in value, but to me he's pretty useless if opposition sides start manning up on him and he's not allowed to take 13 or 14 uncontested marks each week for the rest of the season.
