Did Alex Rance go with the club to the training camp in Cairns recently?

As long as Rance continues to play like he has been he can fly back in the day of round one in my opinion!
Happy players will do more good to the team than a training camp will

Ive given this a bit of thought actually when they initially announced it, i have no concern about Rancey, i just hope the other players dont take umbrage...

Rance is a different cat as we all know, i think it will do him some good and the guy is an adonis as others have said..

Going forward i can actually see more players requesting this (not just RFC, AFL wide) in their new contracts and i think it has merit... For guys like a Goodes before retirement and probably 1-2 at every club i think would do well with the mental refresh that can only be obtained through time away, yes there is a fitness and gameplan etc element to our game but mental fortitude through a long season is something lost i think with alot of clubs, as above i can see more players and clubs allowing this type of refresh to players they know wont sherk the work and be cherry ripe come round 1!!

Club could have buried their heads up the clacker and likely he would have only signed a short term contract rather than the long term one he committed too as he looks to balance his outside football goals
We have a happy medium with the best defender in the afl signed for 4 years and he misses 3 weeks training , no problem

If a guy like Conca, Yarran, Martin etc tried this (i.e. struggles with their fitness) you'd tell them to jam it. But Rance is an absolute adonis and one of the hardest workers at the club I would imagine. No problem whatsoever

Just because he's not with the club doesn't mean he's not staying in shape.

Could it work at motivation for other players? Make the AA team and BnF and you can get an extended break.

Not a massive issue really. Richo always punched darts whilst out on the piss and he was known to run a bit

Not really an issue. Dude beat me in the 800m at state champs. I found him smoking about 5 mins before the race and he still ran low 1.50s.
