Question for moderator Kane

Kane, I appreciate that in your role as moderator you have to decide when enough is enough, but...
Aren't you being a bit heavy handed in the closure of the CDFC related threads.
Yes.. there were insults, but they were mild.
In most cases, particularly the thread regarding Schell, the discussion was coming around to a balance where the relevant parties had aired their grievances and were reconciling them with each other.
If these threads were going to be closed, they should have been so much earlier when the insults were actually being fired around - not 48 hours later when the dust had well and truly settled.
I have seen worse debates on other boards -run by moderators with more than a vested interest in the running of this site - that are far worse than those you have canned.
This is just an opinion on my part.
Good luck with running the board.

PS: to the people who I had had a run in with. It's cool. I'm over it. As I'm sure you are.

If you want to raise a footy issue that came from those threads you could just start another topic.

They are probably best left closed and as you say most people will have moved on.

Dogwatcher, the Schell thread degenerated into a personal slanging match that will not be tolerated on the Crows Board. I didn't close it because I don't like CDFC!

I had a choice to delete some posts if I felt the thread could be useful, or lock it altogether. I chose the later option, as I felt it had run it's course.

We are getting too many "junk" threads for my liking at the moment. Quality not necessarily quantity of posts is the way to go.

I didn't have a concern that it was a CDFC thread you had closed Kane. I just felt that the slanging match was well and truly over by the time you closed it and it was returning to some semblance of normality, if there is such a thing in this wacky internet world.
Your decision. It's fine.

There was still ill-feeling going on with the thread & it wasn't contributing anything positive IMO, so I closed it. Also, had complaints from other Crows BF users. Sure I would have closed it earlier when things blew-up, but I'm not on BF 24-7. Not everyone will agree with the decisions of moderators, but I can live with that!

Fwiw I applaud you Kane, I thought you made the right decision, as did DaveW on subsequent threads.

Personal abuse should never be tolerated and has no place on here.
