hawthorn- pulled out
fremantle- lost to connolly

thats all i know maybe he applied for the adelaide position??

It is probably likely media pressure will force Connoly out of a job during the year.

This is probably the perfect situation for in the ONLY sense that we will have a chance to trial Harvey for 2007. See if he really has the goods, if so we can retain him, if not it would be a waste of time contracting a dud coach for 2 or 3 years when we could attract a top line coach.

I don't think it would be that easy. I can't see any coach, be it Harvey or Joe Schmo, that would sign anything less than a 3 year contract. If we bump CC and sign Harvey, it's not going to be just till the end of next season.

I wonder if Harvey had of beaten Connolly back in the day. Would we be calling for Harvey's head, and waiting for Connolly our assistant to take over the reigns.

Would we have played a final at all?

Connoly would have taken over the hawks.

Wouldnt we install Harvey as the interim coach. The perfect interview.

I'm sure Harvey would take the job temporarily if it became available during the year, but there is no way Harvey would sign a contract to coach just for 2007 at the start of the season.

He didn't.

He applied for the Hawthorn job when Schwab was appointed. They chose Schwab over him. He didn't apply for the job when Clarkson was appointed.

Quite clear that Harvey came to Fremantle with signals that he has a better shot at getting the Head job than at Essendon. Why else would he come to Freo? and why else would Shaw come as well?

My feeling is that regardless of our season's result, Connolly is moving on and back to Melbourne. I also believe that Schwab will be going back to Melbourne.

Harvey and Shaw are recruited to be the successors, plain and simple. But it wont happen in the middle of the season unless disaster strikes.

when you realy think of life after connolly its not that easy a decision.there is huge questions on Harvey no one has realy chased him and why did essendon let him go if he could be a senior coach.i think if CC goes they would put him interim coach then wait to see whos available.ayre might be alright after going with sheedy and learning from his mistakes, the record for coaches on their second club are pretty good.the only other coaches under pressure would be daniher and laidely

Sheedy had huge wraps on Ayres on On The Couch the other night, he couldn't speak highly enough of him and said 'they aren't enough good coaches in football, and if we lose Ayres, it'd be very sad to see one go'

In other words He want's him out of the place.

Sounded like rocket eade praising up Drummy.

How about a sh*tload more money? I'd happily go somewhere else to do the same job i'm already doing for double the money.

Has the Bumbers lost anything by letting harvey and shaw? answer No
Keep right away from both Ayres and Laidley!!

The crows in 2004 let craig have the last third of the season(after Ayes fell on his sword) no appointment was made for 2005 and beyond until end of 2004.

I think it mite be the devil you know folks. Gee did i just say that

Harvs pulled out of the race for the job at Freo because he was concerned that his kids schooling might suffer from the upheaval of going to the otherside of the country.
