Ok, on Friday night, Nick Maxwell was sent off with a blood rule.

When he was about half way off the ground, at the edge of the centre square, another Collingwood bloke ran on.

Nobody else came off, so I am presuming he came on as Maxwell was taking his time coming off the ground, and they needed somebody over at the stoppages ASAP.

Now my question is, how come Collingwood were not pinged for having 19 men on the field?

I remember it happened when Judd was constantly bleeding against us.

Seems it's an exception to the rule.

Blood rule you can come on anytime after the ump has crossed his wrists to signal stop the game. Game restarts when player is in position and other one is off.

Yeah a player can come on before the other player has come off if the blood rule applies.
