I'm not sure what is going on at the Saints but it seems our constant injury trouble is not so bad.

Gardiner is finally playing like a real ruckman

Dal is playing like a real ball winner.

Kosi is playing like a real forward.

I think fitness and conditioning has finally got ahead. It's very good to see. The skills were always there. The potential was seen and is now being shown.

I'm hoping for plenty of competitive games this year. Without having to play the Cats or Hawks for a while I'm hoping we can be the last team to lose a game. (But not like The winning steak)

GO SAINTS!!! :D

Yet again it seems I'm the "poo-poo-merchant".

Max, Armo, Lenny, Raph, and X have had soft tissue concerns during the pre-season (and word was Gram did too).

Roo's knee continues to cause problems.

Schneider has looked fitter (not sure what him progam was during the summer - maybe he had an injury concern too?).

So whether we are managing injuries any better is debateable.

Agree on Dal, but I think his increased intensity is due to recovery from the shoulder injury he got early in 2008 against Essendon. I keep mentioning his shoulder, but people seem to believe that if you keep playing you must be OK. For mine he was not and should have been rested before he lost form and was dropped.

I thought Adelaide's tactics with Kosi were bizarre. Kosi must've had bad gas, as Rutten seemed reluctant to stand anywhere near him. If you look closely 3 of Kosi's goals were from relatively uncontested marks - the only contests were from Reilly which would have been a free anyway (Rutten was standing in the goal square), and a late attempt from Rutten who was again protecting space rather than his man. The other one was a screen from Roo - shame Kosi didn't return the favour in the third quarter and crashed into Roo causing him to drop the mark. Against Sydney Kosi went one handed to conests a lot - needs to shed this habit and use his height (not his bulk).

But the return of Baker, Gardiner and Ball from long term problems have been absolute god-sends. It's like 3 boom recruits. Gilbo too who had some shoulder problems last year (and Dal per above). Add Ray in to the mix which all adds towards the solution.

Gardiner for mine is still under-rated, even though I banged on about how good he is all of last year. You could see at Casey that he hadn't lost any feel for the game, but the pace of AFL took some adjusting too in the pre-season. Shame his feet problems were mis-diagnosed which kept him out of action for so long. To have the guy spot up two 45m passes on the run onto the chest of other players just shows a glimpse of the talent. I hope the club hold him back a little, as he seems to be getting more game time than Kingy (60% vs 40%).

Sorry to butt in, but I'm definitely on board.

Geelong and Hawthorn look like they have come back to the pack, Carlton and Collingwood are just making up the numbers, so here again is a chance for the Saints [and Doggies] to finally fulfill so many dreams, even those of neutral supporters.

10 of the next 12 at Jihadi stadium, one of the away games being "home" to Melbourne at Carrara, the other back at AAMI where you know you can win (and it's a night game). There's no reason why St Kilda can't be 10-3 at worst after 13 rounds.

Dare to dream!

Yeah youve passed it on to us!!:):thumbsd: Must be the johnny barker curse!!
Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season!! you blokes are looking very good..! If we dont win back to back..id love to see the sainters bring home the chocolates..:thumbsu::thumbsu:

That why it's quiet. There is no need to mention anything to do with any month after August.

I think at some point you need to say if you don't finish top 2 you don't have a chance.

Can we not even speak of finals until we get 13 wins? because only 13 wins gaurantees you in the 8, and last time i checked we only have 8 wins.

Dont get me wrong, i want to blow the lid off, but us sainters are the team/supporters that gets teased the most.

9 wins, with Melbourne next, then North

Melbourne haven't defeated a top 8 side for 2 years

And they haven't defeated a top 4 side for 4 years

Ok I think Dal Santo is hitting the limit. Not comfortable against Power and Black and there is much better than them out there right now.

I'm starting to get worried about all the players that will be winning the hard footy on us in the future.

Nathan Jones? Please say it isn't so.

Great to see we have won two when out of form. Our execution has been poor the last two weeks and this week we waited for the game to come to us. It didn't. Then we went and took it in the last quarter. I am sure RL will show the tapes and hammer home the messAge At training. We will run the plays the next two weeks and the form and attitude slump will be over.

Bring on round 14.

Still just plodding along. :D

Might not get a result on my prediction until the Cats game.

Will keep this updated.

don't think we will beat the cats, but as long as we are reasonably close i still will be happy.

thwe whole problem is you can win 22 games in the Home & away and go outstraight out in the finals. w22 wins will not guarrentee a grand final win !
