Plus Dawson can always spend time behind the ball if they need another calm head. As can Cummings.

TBH if we are going to swap Hinge with someone who gives us a point of difference defender, I'd MUCH prefer they bring in Bond. Let him lock down hard on a dangerous forward, and let the other HBFers take up Hinge's slack.

He's now contradicting himself to justify his terrible selections, McAndrew and Nank also performed very well in the pre-season yet McAndrew hasn't had a look in despite our current ruckman having a worse turning circle than the Ever Given, and he basically had to be dragged kicking and screaming to select Nank.

Smith though? nah he was good in 2017 let's bring him straight back in

I don't want to come across as rational in any way, but there is a chance that the mentioning of Murphy & Smith is the good old club imperative of 'looking after the senior players' egos'.

Smith has no power now that it's his final year.

I think it's case of they love continuity. With a couple of other forced changes they don't want to blood anyone. Outside of the first rounders we're never in a hurry to give the kids a game.

Also, Keays feasts on the blues (9 goals in the past 3 games) and the Blues are the Crows' bunny when playing in Adelaide - we seem do well against Port in SA but can't do jack$hit against the Crows.

I think Gov will do well on Tex, who is starting to show signs of slowing down. He might lose a stationary strength battle, but how many of them are there realistically in a match anyway. Fog is a 50:50, so no doubt still pretty sure and we'll have to see how TT goes with his recently savagely dislocated finger. The issue on top of each's personal challenge is the amount of quality ball that is going to come their way. They might all turn up in good nick, but there's a ? on each of them.

Overall, I don't think our key forwards will have any greater advantage over your key backs than your key forwards against our key backs. In fact, just with the ? on our blokes, I think you're likely to win that aspect, which means we'll have to beat you through the middle. And I doubt many of us are too confident there. Crouch out helps, so there's that.

You might be right. The Club has shown its hand. It's determined to prop up their failing choice for that absurd 2-year extension.

Couple of the senior boys are gonna want to have a good game this week IMO.
  • Thought ANB played pretty poorly against the Dockers, and by in large hasn't brought as much to the table as he was sold as being able to bring. Keays is regularly outplaying him in a similar role.
  • Tex ended up with 2 goals last week in junk time, but was a total non factor for most of the game (after I spent a week pumping up his 300/700 chances).
  • Dawson's decision making and kicking need a swift jolt in the right direction.
  • ROB, if you look at his stats he's eerily close to his career averages. But he's so far removed from his Gold Jacket form now. I wouldn't say he's cracked the top 15 players for our team in a single game this year. And been battling for worst on ground more than once.
Interesting that for me the resident whipping boy Laird is not on this list, I've actually been pretty impressed with him most the season.

Extremely harsh on ANB, hasn't done a great deal wrong.

Bond is one I'd like to see come in. Haven't had anyone with his toolkit since Brown retired. Bond has more strings to his bow than Brown. Can either lock down or run with. With the defensive problems we have at centre bounces, I'd bring him in this week to tag one of their gun mids.
