I abhor the term "reverse racism." Racism is racism is racism, and suggesting that one form of racism is "reverse" is like suggesting that racism should only go one way.

Racism is a term that gets thrown around FAR too much IMO. It is a very powerful term, when someone is called racist for making a joke (an inappropriate one about someones race etc) you are suggesting that they are on the same level as the KKK, nazis and so on.

Don't cheapen the term, call these ill-informed people "bigots" or "********s" or something like that. Leave the term racist for those who are truly evil and deserving of such a horrible label.

This is just another example of overzealous correctness whenever anyone says anything remotely against what is considered "right" or "acceptable".

If I'm such a red-neck then why the f*ck is my current housemate and best friend of Aboriginal descent, and why have I lived with and been close friends with another Aboriginal girl and had plenty of Aboriginal mates???

Just more generalisation.

This last paragraph goes a long way to me making the assumption that you are hiding your true feelings behind a screen. You use the term 'PC' as if there's something wrong with caring about other people and their plight. By your logic, if I was to come out and generalise about a race, then I'm ok because I'm strong enough to stand up for my racist beliefs. Well my friend, I am PC and I am strong enough to stand up for my beliefs, but in your eyes that makes me foolish.
I know that I'd rather be considered PC than a racist goon.

Probably, but then it won't be read...

I class racism in the same category as gender rights: generalisations that are discriminatory to one gorup or another, hence harmful to their idea of a 'fair go'.
If i believe an aboriginal footballer has done something that may be in his ancestry (such as go 'walkabout' or back to his family (i know we all miss our families, but whitefellas are usually pitied), then i will say so, and if that's racist then lock me up in a cell with Kevin Bloody Wilson and the entire Australian Government.
