As the old saying goes "never pick a fight with a redhead." I had a cousin who was a redhead that played at Wonthaggi many moons ago, absolute wild man....spent most of his time on the sidelines suspended unfortunately.

Apparently many redheads have a genetic condition where they have much higher pain tolerance than the average population. Something anaesthetist's take into accoount. This might explain the saying.

Or maybe the opposite? ... anyway
