the only way to like them is ironically and through the lens of childhood nostalgiaReally random thought I had considering TLJ being out last week: the Ochre is basically the football jumper equivalent of the Star Wars Prequels.
Both came out at the turn of the century
Both were at the time criticised by fans
Finding defenders of them is pretty rare (Freight Train liked the Ochre before it was cool, and while there were obviously many out there, very few people would publicly admit they liked the prequels)
Both have had a turnaround in public opinion recently (more people here like the Ochre, and now more people will state that they liked the prequels)
Dude, why.

Hi everyone. I'm chasing some feedback on the shirt only in the design below. Whilst it is branded as LA Galaxy, I intend to potentially pitch this as a design to my soccer club who also happen to be called the 'Galaxy' and use navy, royal and gold as their colours. The shorts and socks are intentionally plain due to cost.
Historically, our club has used yellow shirts, which I personally prefer as we are the only club in the region that uses yellow and it makes us stand out, particularly at junior carnivals where it's easy to identify our 60-odd kids among a sea of several hundred people. It was requested by parents that we change to navy as it's easier to keep clean than yellow, which as a parent I can fully appreciate. Navy is also the preferred colour by most members from an aesthetic perspective as well.
Key considerations of design
- Must be blue and yellow/gold
- Ability to be used by both seniors and juniors
- Flexibility in placement of sponsors
- Navy as the main colour
- Easily identifiable from a distance (yellow; large contrasting numbers)
- Easy to invert or manipulate if/when we need a clash
- Some relevance to the name 'Galaxy' without ripping off LA's design (as nice as it is)
Main issues
Thanks for taking the time to read this
- Would this stand out on a child 100-150m away? (Main competitors' colours are sky blue, royal blue, bottle green, purple, red and black)
- Could the stars effect be reasonably achieved through sublimation at an appropriate quality to make this design worthwhile?
- Would the stars design be cost effective for an amateur club? (Our current sublimated shirts cost $55)
- Would you or your kids be happy if this was your club's design?
- How would you improve it?

Ah, this is great. It looks nice on a computer screen but it's just small circles with an outer glow so I was concerned how it would translate to a real shirt. Thank you.Excellent jersey, I love the thought that gone into this. My only other experience with sublimated stars on tops like you have used is with the current Melbourne victory away kit which rather than looking like the night sky, seems to resemble a man with very bad dandruff. Not really sure how to overcome that but something to be aware of.
Instances like what, companies getting celebrities to help them sell stuff?I noticed that Dustin Martin is set to be announced as Bonds new ambassador. Has there been any other instances like this in the past?
That kind of brand for AFL Players. From what I can think of,he may be the first. If I was bonds I wouldn't use him as in some instances to some people he may look like a bikie.Instances like what, companies getting celebrities to help them sell stuff?
Yeah, I can think of a few.
I think he has enough name recognition now that people wouldn’t associate him with being a bikie (despite the obvious connections) and he would work pretty well for the audience that bonds is trying to reach. That kind of brand for AFL Players. Lowes is for older people anyway what u was referring to is not much AFL Players have partnered with underwear companies that I can think of. Another example I can think of is Alex Rance and Lowe’s. Which from what I can gather is pretty much like best & less.
