Next time they release a footy game it will need a hell of a lot more depth if it is going to rival the likes of FIFA and CoD in the Australian gaming market.

So you're saying the first iteration of a game with a very low budget, is not as good as games that have had 10-20 version and have billions of dollars spent on them every year?

Considering what it was, I thought AFL Live was a very good effort by Big Ant.

Yep. I don't know how people can try to compare AFL Live to games like FIFA, NBA and Madden. Imaging the difference in budgets between Live and FIFA. This is easily the best AFL game yet, Big Ant done it very well.

A lot of people on the AFL Games board think there'll be a new version released next year with a $15 dollar update a year later, and then they will release another one the next year, and so on.

If Rugby League 2 (also by Big Ant) is anything to go by, it's going to be even better than its predecessor.

Well duh.. they are much better than AFL Live for that very reason. I'm saying the Australian gaming market is primarily what Big Ant were targeting. Sure, we all have preferences as to what sort of game we want to play, but the fact it is Australian rules, we are more likely to buy it (being footy fans). It doesn't need that sort of budget that EA has, to satisfy us as gamers. When talking about depth I'm not referring to features like Ultimate team, FIWC, and the huge variety of online/offline modes on Call of Duty. But things that wouldn't cost an extra billion dollars, would make the overall experience a WHOLE lot more enjoyable for me. For instance, 2 songs on the playlist? Surely it wouldn't hurt them to put a few more on... I've listened to 'Holy Grail' 104953 too many times. A career mode would be modelled off FIFA's, but much more simple, having only 18 teams, half the amount of games in a season, etc. If I recall AFL 2006 had something similar. My expectations for a footy game aren't very high. Things like making Etihad's roof open in day games would please me, as would fixing up the uniforms, instead of 10 sides having their away shorts as home shorts, socks both up and down, long sleeve jumpers, etc. Stuff like that would make a world of difference to me.

I just can't believe it, what a disgrace.

They aren't difficult to do.

I, like Hand, wish they would fix up those little mistakes, it shouldn't be hard to get the short colours right. For example, Geelong's home strip is their home jumper with navy shorts, which is the same as their away, then they have their clash strip which is all navy. Therefore, they don't REALLY have a light strip. All they have to do is change their away shorts to white.

You'd think now that they already have the template (not starting from scratch this time), when they make the new game they will be able to fix up those little mistakes.

Bought that yesterday. Probably the best non-FIFA sports game I've played! Better than AFL live, rugby challenge, cricket (cant remember the year) and the other rugby league games IMO.

Big slap in the face to NBA 2K13. That shit is the best sports game out there. I prefer FIFA, and I prefer soccer as a sport, but NBA 2K13 has the whole package.

Worst weather, we played in a fair bit of rain actually, was so cold too. A grade got washed out but we got a result and actually won in the first game of the year which as good as we (D grade) typically struggled last year.

Sick and tired of the confusion between the sport and the league/competition.

I know the AFL can market itself this way sometimes (particularly in the northern states) but so many people now write/say something like "I prefer AFL over soccer". You prefer Australian Football League over soccer? Doesn't make sense.

And then underneath are the years of the Geelong Football Club's 16 senior premierships.

Won u17's in the morning in a T20.
I made 19 opening the batting, took a catch and we made 3/109 and rolled them for 80ish
A grade got washed out.
B grade we bowled and got them 8/72 (I took a good catch)
C grade bowled them out for 79 and are 2/39 in reply
D grade had a good win (as Gibbsy said)
D2 got washed out.

T20 is so fun to play. Doesn't suit my batting style (defensive) too well though.

My season doesn't start for 2 weeks.. Had a training session this afternoon though, stayed for an extra 30 minutes with a couple of others and tested out the club's new speed gun! Was bloody awesome
